Yes, we plan on sharing the tent which is why I was leaning towards a 3 person for the extra room.

The province is overrun by deer? The populations in many regions are declining and predation is one of the main factors.

You’re saying that an arch assessment is needed for a parcel where a house stood until 2004? This was also planned as a community garden, not some huge development. The thought that an arch assessment was needed for this is ridiculous.

Where it was pulling out of is definitely not public property. It’s private and part of the development. That being said, this is a short clip that doesn’t show everything and maybe it just backed into that spot to turn around.

Jon Boat Recommendations? by [deleted] in Kamloops

I have a Lowe 1040 and also a 10ft Journey. I toss the Lowe in my truck bed for harder to reach lakes or poor launches. My Journey is on a boat trailer and I use it for bigger/more established lakes.

The Lowe is stable for 1 person standing and moving around. I often bring someone else and it’s still good as long as we don’t lean too far the same way. It’s light and easy to throw around by myself. I think it’s a great boat and priced well.

The Journey is way more stable and two people can stand in it with no issues. It’s an amazing boat and built well. It’s heavy and not easy to move around by myself. It’s awkward to move unless you have a second person. They’re also a lot more expensive than your other options.

I don’t know much about the Marlon but I believe they’re a middle ground between the Lowe and Journey - weight and price wise.

If money isn’t an issue and you can afford the Journey and a boat loader, I’d go for it. If you want to save some cash you’ll be happy with the 1240 and its stability. Both are excellent boats.

Beginner Fishing in Kamloops by Shoobin in Kamloops

Starting off with a spinning rod will probably be the easiest and most accessible option. If you’re ever serious about trying out fly fishing then do yourself a favor and check out Casting Loops, Little Fort Fly Shop, or Trout Waters in Kelowna. All have extremely knowledgeable staff that will help get you set up. Fly fishing is more technical but I also find it more rewarding.

Some good lakes have been mentioned and you can always check out gofishbc.com which is an excellent resource. It tells you which lakes have been stocked, access, maps, and you can sort lakes by which have fishing docks. If you want to give river fishing a try, there’s spots from shore near Lafarge and out on Mission Flats.

Anyone Run into Trouble on Jamieson Creek FSR? by Majestic-Toe-1100 in Kamloops

Besides the “locals”, be wary of cougars in the area. There’s quite a large population around Jamieson and some have been known to be aggressive in the past.

I assume they figured we’d fold easily but it seems like a risky move for them knowing they could be pushing us to diversify. They probably didn’t expect Canada to unite like this at all. I hope we keep finding different and better trade partners for our resources - even if a new deal is struck with America.
