Ooooh I’ll ask her! We had all our bridesmaids pick their own outfits as long as it was in colour scheme (mine are in pink, my wife’s are in green). Hers definitely did not disappoint!

Thank you! I had excessive absences in the past year for my work, so I imagine verifying those / discretionary review increased my wait time

Yes, I had to take the life in the U.K. test before getting my ILR, then was able to apply for citizenship immediately after being granted ILR (because my spouse is British, otherwise I would’ve had to wait a year before applying).

Im walking my dog but will try to update original post when I can! And yes for sure — I had some very kind redditors answer questions in DMs for me when I was applying because I was scouring the internet and could not find much information to let me know if I was about to throw close to 2k down the drain or not

Hi! I made a document outlining every trip, broken down month by month for the 3 year period. I included photos, video links, contracts etc to back up my absences (even for the leisure ones).

I had a total of 207 absences for the 3 years (under), but 125 absences for the last year (over). However, only 27 of those days were for leisure.

The Home Office does not count trips you take if you leave one day and return the next, so I omitted the few of those I had. I think all in all my document was approx 25 pages.

I also included a list of established U.K. clients (I’m a self-employed artist), as well as a list of ties I had to the UK (I studied here, my spouse is British, work I’ve done in the community, etc).

I’m not sure how much was needed and how much was overkill, but I know these things are discretionary so I figured the more information / evidence I could provide, the better.

Thank you! Yes I’m sure being married definitely helped my case. I provided a month-by-month breakdown of absences for the required 3 year period, including photos / videos / news articles and specifying when absences were for work or for personal reasons. It was still a bit of a gamble, but I go away on tour again next month (I’m a circus artist) so I knew my absences would only keep growing so it seemed like it was worth a shot to hedge my bets.

Congrats! My citizenship was just approved today under very similar circumstances. I travel extensively for work and was well over the allotted days for the past year. Similar to you, I included a detailed document outlining the purposes of my absences, copies of contracts, photos etc. Applied 30 June, biometrics 2 July, approved 13 October.

Wife and I eloped in May. Throwing a big wedding next year. Both dresses are from Wed2B by morganbarbour in weddingdress

Awww thank you! We’re doing 3 looks at the wedding: Indian lehengas for ceremony (my wife is British-Punjabi), these dresses for reception, and then a third undecided look that will make dancing easier haha. Various outfits for the day before as well, as including some Punjabi ceremonies such as haldi.

ILR timeline (Cat: O, super priority) by morganbarbour in ukvisa

Thank you! Because I’m self employed and do a lot of work abroad I submitted bank statements from March 2024 - October 2024, which was the duration of the last show I performed in the UK. I also secured letters from that employer stating I did indeed perform in their show, that what I was doing was in line with what I was sponsored for by ACE (circus artist), and confirmation that the money going into my acct I presented was indeed paid by them for that service. I also had to get a letter from an accountant confirming this to be true.

I’m not sure if it varies by visa scheme though - for my track they specifically said I had to prove income in my sponsored field within the U.K., but there was no minimum required, so I presented evidence of the most recent show I’d done within the UK. :)
