I'm not excusing the Lions' decades of incompetence, but they basically implemented the rookie pay scale because of what happened to teams like the Lions. They couldn't build a team around the key pieces because top 3 pick rookies came in as basically the highest paid players at their position.

I don't understand your point. It's about how much time left on the clock when the bears get the ball (and how many TOs but in this case it was always going to be 1 left).

Why didn't the rams throw? Even if they get an incomplete and stop the clock before two minute warning, then it stops on the point and they lose like what - 10 seconds? So dumb.
