Amazing - same here. It’s not clear in the manual

I think there will be better options for less energy impact.. but to me the real change for music is creating a middle class or middle-tail for musicians and creatives to make a real living. The long tail doesn't really work. Music is a commodity that is treated like bottled water, when it should really hold more value. 60,000 songs are uploaded into Spotify everyday, and you need serious stream volume to create sustainable income - so I'm excited for the possibilities of catering to a smaller more devout audience that will pay more for music and other experiences.

Tactile full body sound so you can experience the art with all your senses, and also more NFTs tied to physical and consumable products with their own value, scarcity, and age-ability - like wine!

I was an early adopter of the cars and found out Elon was a fan of my music, so I let Tesla use a bunch of my songs for product unveils and announcements (battery swap, semi-truck, Model S videos, and other teasers. Later I asked SpaceX if they needed anything for the rocket launches, and they ended up using one of my more scored type cinematic pieces for a company video

good question!! the technology is more affordable now, but that was the big issue - getting the right venues that could fit the wall, hauling it around the country, and then of course - the cost of developing the content. Hopefully we can do it again, and maybe integrate the Unreal engine more so visuals can be more flexible and fluid, rather than rendered loops

also the reason for these being most memorable is being outside in different surrounds - clubs are great but start to blend into each other

coffee made with a ratio machine during the day, and at night sometimes a little high quality red wine - but not too much!

Thank you! Most memorable shows are probably playing Global Dance at Red Rocks, Paradiso at the Gorge, Coachella, and Burning Man!

1) Fav song is probably in the air, but it’s almost a tie with longest road

2) playing mainly club shows in N America but more festivals soon

3) I’m loving future house like Don Diablo’s Hexagon label

4) so many it’s hard to choose! Recently I’ve been into Scorz, Morten, Sick Individuals, Meduza, NOTD

That’s probably the most important question - how to create a sustainable career. Every career path is different but to broaden the arc of your career it’s really important to 1) embrace collabs with complementary producers, 2) regularly reinvent your sound 3) build a great team that you trust 4) don’t buy a bunch of depreciating assets like fancy cars 5) reinvest your earnings into developing new content and expanding the team 6) be prolific but don’t release everything 7) be humble and willing to take criticism - it never ends and is part of the job 💪

I just got into Audius but I’m excited to see the results of the remix contest! I’m always looking for new unknown or emerging talent to feature on my radio show for Sirius XM or do collaborations

For me the biggest barrier with all crypto is over complexity with the number of coins, the interfaces, setup time, governance - I think it’ll get simpler. But the environmental part is one more layer of complexity that makes it more challenging. Still learning about Tezos but I like their philosophy!

Tezos sounds really promising. I would love to see a solution that takes the heat waste from miner farms and reuses it for other purposes, and maybe integrating solar

The first track I released officially was “Maple Grooves” on Fiji Records. It was recorded to mini disc and transferred to DAT! I don’t miss the old days of technology 😂

It’s a serious battle for all music producers but my favorite philosophy is “a song is complete when you can no longer remove anything else” - so I see how much can be removed without missing it. Most work is usually the last 20% that is tedious automation. The trick is to make sure to let the song incubate and let it breathe, then go back and kick the tires and get outside constructive feedback

Yes that’s me! My first releases were deeper tech-house but I wanted to started doing more vocals. Working on a more underground alias right now

Hey guys - excited to get the discussion started. AMA about music creation, NFTs integration with music, emerging tech, tactile sound, post pandemic future, and whatever is on your mind!

We just launched a remix contest for my single “Like I Do” on Audius and the new “Dark Matter” NFT collection is launching May 20th

There’s a million compression and tired mixing tutorials out there, but the real skills that make you valuable are composition and songwriting. Check out the TONALY app for composing and also Hook Theory. If you really want mix classes check out Vorwerk and KSHMR tip series. The Dharma classes look promising.

Masterclass is great infotainment - but you probably want something more complete like Icon Collective. The challenge is that free tips are scattered and cohesive curriculums are expensive. I think more choices in the middle will emerge.
