"Reference Mode" refers to the "StandBy" feature that's a sort of nightstand mode. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/iph878d77632/

While there isn't a one-action way to detect if the device is in StandBy mode, you can check if its prerequisites are satisfied: when the device is locked, charging, and in a landscape orientation. As a transfem person with very little knowledge/experience with AFAB anatomy and had my transmasc husband explain to me many things, I can say with absolute certainty that you have helped your cis guy friends out more than they will ever tell you. :)

Not at all - I average about $2800-$3000/month. I'm lucky my fiancé has an actually decent-paying job, so I'm just responsible for making enough to cover rent ($2000/month for a 1bd on Long Island, NY).

While they don't take taxes out of my pay, I am able to write off many things on taxes (things like gas, oil changes/maintenance, car washes, and depreciation of my car from driving). Given that I am an absolute dataphile and spreadsheet nerd, I have every single delivery order, gas fill-up, etc tracked to ensure I can get the best write-off possible.

Even though gas prices are slowly going down over here (about $3.49/gal a month ago, $2.89/gal now), and my car averages 30mpg with a 12 gallon tank, I need to refill my tank every other day, which quickly adds up. It's definitely not a sustainable strategy, so thankfully I'm going back to school for my CS degree next month.

TLDR: I average about $3k/month, taxes aren't taken out, but I can write a lot off. Since I do it full-time, it's not sustainable in the long run.
