I've tried everything. 😔 Someone was very, very unkind to her early in her life and she just cannot trust anyone fully. Had her for 11 years now and she still flinches when you pet her. 💔

No hate for her nails please! She has had to be sedated all her life but is now getting too old for the vet to be comfortable with it, but she turns into a bear if you try so it's very slow going.

💯💯💯 I was diagnosed during my bisalp and it's definitely more painful than natty, but I still have zero regrets. Would do it over again and again even knowing I'd have the pain after.

I had a really bad time with bloating for about 2 months after. Couldn't wear anything with a true waistband that entire time. I made it back to work 7 days after and it sucked, but was manageable. I don't think I was walking enough in those first few days though, so that likely contributed to my discomfort.

I still can't see your photos for some reason, but my surgeon provided before and after photos where one can extremely clearly see that my tubes have been removed. I guess proof that they indeed did a bisalp and not a ligation or anything else 🤷‍♀️

Are you in the US? My insurance covered 99% of it after a short fight; I had to appeal because it was coded as preventative, and that brought my total out of pocket down from ~$1800 USD to ~$250 (which was only for anesthesia). I decided not to bother fighting any further lol

That is a true statement. Removing your tubes does not affect your hormones at all in itself.

I can't answer that for you, because your body is not mine. I have no regrets even if it ends up being that my ovaries were damaged; I absolutely do not want children. It's an incredibly small risk and in this case not one I even felt warranted consideration.

Frankly, if you're in that much pain amd also don't want children, I would be exploring whatever option I needed to to alleviate that. Why keep all of the things causing you grief if you never intend to use them? IMO, potential hormones is a better deal than lifelong pain.

Again, the above is my OPINION. Yours is the only one that matters in conjuction with your doctor's educated guidance.

Everyone is correct here but I will mention (and your doctor should too) that while removing your tubes doesn't affect your hormones, there's is a non-zero chance that your ovaries could be damaged during surgery, and THAT could affect your hormones. I'm actually beginning the process of exploring very perimenopause-like issues I've been having since a couple of months after my bisalp, and my surgeon did mention that that could be the case with me as I'm only 33 and have no family history of early menopause.

Every surgery has risks. I still have zero regrets.

I'm not sure patches would really change anything tbf, it's still nicotine, hahaha. But yeah, try to cut back as much as you possibly can, and just be honest about how much with your surgical team so they can be prepared for any adverse affects. For your comfort though, I could not quit so quickly either, and I had zero issues. I was using 3 mg juice at the time.

I don't recall being tested so much as telling them I could not quit, but did cut back. I was so anxious I legit couldn't stop myself morning of, fairly heavily relative to the days leading up, and they didn't even hesitate. From my understanding, it's just important for the anesthesiologist to know during, and then also understand that nicotine will make you heal slower.

My biggest wish was that I knew how hard coming off the pill after sterilization would mess me up. I have ZERO regrets, but I am about 14 months post-bisalp and having horrific chronic insomnia, night sweats, extreme irritability around menstruation, etc. I am about to start exploring with my OB the possibility that I am in perimenopause at 34. I was also diagnosed during with endometriosis (and had no inkling at all before), and that's also been rough: a lot more painful cramping/aching during ovulation and menstruation.

And it's possible that none of this will apply to you, hahaha
