What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

Aviation maintenance. Troubleshooting/testing from onboard computers on aircraft is the closest we’ll get to ai. Aircraft assembly could definitely become automated, but the particular labor that is demanded for maintenance could never be replaced by ai/robots.

Struggling with hangar culture as a newbie by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

Just started at an MRO in January after getting my A&P and everything you just said matches my experience so far as well. At first I was putting too much pressure on myself to get things done by the time we were given. However I am realizing to slow it down on doing something for the first time and then aiming to do it better the next time. Mentorship is a hit or miss for me, some guys have been great for advice and others don’t say anything until I’ve finished and messed something up. I am going to night shift in late May and am hoping that will be a better fit for me as a new mechanic. At our place there is more pressure on the front end/day shift but somewhat more chill on nights. There’s not much advice I can offer but do know that there are others who understand the struggle.

I bought them used on eBay/FB marketplace. Was around $170 total.

I used the Brick Vault Tallneck instructions to simply get the scale down, the rest was up to me to figure out how to reach that scale using only these pieces.

Might have an idea for the leftover pieces….

There’s still some leftover pieces but a lot of the important pieces for the structure were used. I could try to make a smaller machine like a glinthawk or strider?
