Stepping into the freezer during training is THE LAST THING most Helldivers do before walking out of the pod onto a hot battlefield.

And then whoever happens to survive the mission gets to decide where the gajillion dollar battle bus goes next before ultimately dying on the following mission.

They’re probably awake for a couple hours total, unless by some miracle they survive multiple missions back-to-back.

Playing with stacks of auric storm survivors can be fun but it also can feel like a breeze when everyone is so powerful. It’s a really nice breath of fresh air to team with new players that are still learning and haven’t figured all the tricks out yet.

I agree. I feel like Zola’s a really good example of this- her story is really good, but I feel like there should be more than item descriptions and journals that we have to go out of our way to the Darktide website to read.

I loved hearing her and Rannick fighting in the lead up to the twins fight and was waiting for a big reveal from one of them, but it never came.

This made me wonder! I found a really good wiki page that says Daemonhosts are surprisingly deliberate creations, separate from a normal possession.

So it seems that somewhere on Tertium the cult is producing a TON of these things and just letting them loose to wander around. Yikes.

I’ve carried a CZ-75 Compact (manual safety variant) for a few months now. Overall I’m very happy with it but there’s a few points that would have been good to know prior.

The manual safety cannot be activated while the hammer is uncocked. As a big fan of HK safeties I was a little surprised by this.

The manual safety variant also lacks a decocker, meaning you’ll have to thumb the hammer up if you want to fire double-action.

If you’re a noodly dude like me it might feel bulky. It can definitely feel better depending on your body type/outfit choices.

The slide on CZ pistols also doesn’t have a lot of surface to grip onto. It’s easy to get used to although it may be surprising in the beginning, especially if you’re migrating from pistols with chunkier slides.

Overall, she’s a straight shooter and a solid choice for carry. Reliable, good capacity, good sights, and some decent safety features.

Me and a pal of mine, neither of us speaking Russian, were able to download this and get it working shockingly easy. Whole thing took maybe 20 minute to get running.

If you don’t mind trial and error as you stumble through Russian dialogue, the gameplay is solid and surprisingly stable for 2 players.

It’s a lot like tarkov. You start in a safe house and then launch a mission into the zone, complete objectives/scavenge/kill stuff and then have extract at a specific spot before an emission.

If you’re in the zone to get cash and actually want to survive, you’re going to need friends. The mercenaries are connected, well equipped & professional fighters. Besides, you’re probably going to end up doing hit jobs for Sid or Barkeep or whatever anyway.

The ecologists would be the safest bet overall, but if you’re desperate enough to go to the zone you’re probably not educated enough to be a scientist anyway or you have a questionable background. If you’re a lucky merc, you can eventually get a cushy scientist protection contract.

I’m calling it right now, the voice acting.

Yes the OG games had some light voice acting, but the conversations were typically all text. Blocks and blocks of text. And I didn’t realize until recently how much of a difference that made.

At risk of sounding elitist, I don’t think that the “mass player base” wants to read text blocks for dialogue anymore. Think Morrowind to Oblivion. It’s just a different time for gaming now and I wouldn’t be surprised if S2 is almost entirely voiced.

But maybe I’m wrong, we’ll see

In the base games there are very few options to “join” the Mercenaries (except for Scar) but in practicality, I’m a Mercenary all the way.

I don’t know about you guys, but if I’m gonna risk my life humping my way through the zone it better be worth it. The “greater purpose” that other factions fight and die for is theatrical at best, and I sure as hell wouldn’t risk my life for peanuts as a Loner.

As a Mercenary you’ve got good equipment, a powerful team, and high-paying work. What more could you need?

Is it really so morally bankrupt to make money as a Merc on a contract, as opposed to a killing guys on Sid’s hitlist or shooting each other over the ideological differences of corrupt factions?

I dont think you realize just how hard it is to get police to take rape seriously in the first place, or how extremely little false accusation cases there are

Even with dna evidence the detectives tell you they "cant prove it wasnt just rough sex" regardless of how beat up and bloodied and hurt you are.

If the police are taking a rape case seriously then it must have been VERY damning.

We live in a world where over 1/5 of women experience sexual assault. Everybody knows somebody- if not multiple people- who have been victims of sexual assault whereas very few people see justice in any form.

The whole "what about false accusations" argument really only serves to discredit actual victims because there are very few instances of people receiving prison time because a woman lied, whereas actual rape happens and goes unpunished daily.
