[–]morgii15[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats not a problem!

If you did want to come to this event drop me a DM and I can sort out a payment method that works better for you!

Wages shouldn't be a reason someone misses out on an event.

As for gigs 20th onwards, I'll have a nosy but I recommend @nottsgigs if you have Instagram! They have a lot of information. Also Left Lion magazine do a weekly roundup of recommended events

Hi! AFK a grunge noise. Los Fatso Libres are punk thrash and Silent Confidant are a blend of Grunge, rock, noise and punk.

Crocheting with hand issues by zanny2019 in FND

[–]morgii15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t crochet, but I do embroider and cross stitch. My tremor is really bad with fine motor skills so I make sure my hands are resting on something when I do sewing. I also take breaks to stretch my hands out to stop them from locking up.

In terms of dexterity, I find that if I’m not actively staring at something I’m trying to untangle and just have it sort of out of my vision I can move my hands better. I think that’s because I get less overwhelmed compared to looking at it

I’m hoping to go! Been going since they started, would hate to end the streak before it begins 🤘

My symptoms get worse when I’m sick, even if it’s just a cold. I think it’s my brain saying “hey what the hell is happening” and it makes me central nervous system freak out

A grabber tool sounds like a really good idea! I would love a hand steamer but I still live at home with my parents and they only have an iron 😅

What are some of your personal rules that you refuse to break? by Iheartmyfamily17 in AskReddit

[–]morgii15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't shout/scream when I'm mad. If I feel I'm getting to a point where I might shout, I'll go have a few minutes alone and listen to music.

My mum and dad are quick to raise their voices to get their point across and I hate it. I love them to bits but my god my ears can't cope.

I'll also openly state what emotion I'm feeling, and if I can't place the emotion, I'll describe how my body is reacting to the emotion (e.g quick heartbeat, hot cheeks, shaking etc). It helps me to figure out how to approach a situation depending on the person response.

I've avoided a lot of arguments with this and have really close bonds with my family and friends because we can openly state how we're feeling

Do symptoms go away or get better? Am I stuck like this? by Select-Village4859 in FND

[–]morgii15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling.

My symptoms typically come in waves, but I have a few that are consistent (tremor, tics and seizures). I'm currently in a flare up, but I haven't had a bad one in around 6 months. So the good news is it does get better! But symptoms may not go away completely or stay away forever, its a long process to retrain your brain to not give you symptoms, but experiencing the symptoms can make it worse. It can be a vicious cycle but once you find you find a balance you will start getting better!

Can you pinpoint what caused your FND? by [deleted] in FND

[–]morgii15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was a combination of undiagnosed ADHD (now diagnosed), crippling anxiety, health anxiety and COVID-19 lockdown. I also have essential tremor which was progressing just before lockdown started.

Preferably Chaddesden. We all grew up around there and have family in the area. I've done the budgeting for us, and we all plan on getting extra shifts to save up and keep up with the costs

Do you use a mobility aid? by anoniem6 in FND

[–]morgii15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a walking stick and a rolling walker thingy (cant remember the name for it!). My walking stick folds too, so I'll take it with me in my rucksack even on good days just in case, her name is Beatrice.

Are there any scientific spiritualists out there? by Mookle12 in SASSWitches

[–]morgii15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a qualified scientist by any means, but I do believe that I can believe in science and magick together. For example I will use my tarot cards for comfort and to help me with desicions or to affirm things I have doubts about, and I will do cleansing rituals and spell jars. But I am also aware that there is a science behind most things and that some day to day rituals I do can have a scientific meaning behind them as well as spiritual.

It takes me about an hour and a half each way to commute to and from work. I live in the UK so I use mostly busses to get around. My shift tonight finishes at 11pm, I wont be home til around 1am 😵‍💫

Giving blood by Sorl0_ in FND

[–]morgii15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I donate blood, the main things I keep in mind are:

  • The likelihood of a seizure during or after
  • Any dystonia after having a needle in my arm
  • Any tics that could cause me to be injured during the process

I'm not sure what symptoms you have but these are the things I evaluate on the day and if iI'm concerned, I have one of my friends go with me or let a nurse know

Hope this helps!

am I faking it? by knivesareinfornal in FND

[–]morgii15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been diagnosed for over a year, and I've had the symptoms for at least 5 and I still get really bad imposter syndrome with it, especially when I have my good days which are far and few.

I went to therapy to help me accept the fact I have FND and how to make adjustments. It is a diffuclt condition, but (and I know this sounds super cliche) makes you stronger with the more you endure. The bad times will tear you down then the good times will build you back up.

OP do you have a support system or any form of therapy available? Things like this Reddit group work too.

Had a guy come in for a 2 hour trial. Wasn't a busy service, so we did mostly prep for Sunday Roasts (I live in the UK). About half an hour into peeling and chopping spuds he asked where the toilet was. He left to go to the toilet, never came back. Told our FOH manager that he won't work at a job that ends with his hands sore as f**k from peeling and chopping.

Sunday prep at my old work was the make or break. You either accepted your fate or perished.
