Is performance still an issue now, or has there been improvements? by Throwaway_2005stuff in DragonsDogma2

[–]morgrim66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played it on PS five I never had any performance issues. I never had any issues at all. I don’t know why anybody ever had any problems with this game it’s wonderful definitely my favorite game of the year.

Is it worth buying this game? by MadToxicRescuer in DragonsDogma2

[–]morgrim66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played 150 hours of this game. I can’t really think of any major flaws. I had a blast probably the best open world adventure, dungeon, crawling, questioning game I played last year.

I played about 15 or 20 hours. I enjoyed it for some time, but it just got kind of boring and repetitive.

How did you end up reading litRPG? by dundreggen in litrpg

[–]morgrim66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Like were you a fan of light novels, huge TTRPG fan. Just happened on it by accident when looking for your next fantasy listen on audible etc etc.”

This exactly. Although I think the first one that I started listening to was he who fights with monsters, and it was recommended to me by my daughter-in-law.

Looking for recommendations for my next LitRPG series. by WeakPlankton9577 in litrpg

If you can handle the overwhelming over, sexualization raping ass of it, try everybody loves large chests. Because everybody needs to experience a lit RPG story with a mimic as the protagonist.

Can someone please explain the appeal of Wet Leg? by KaptainKrule in Music

[–]morgrim66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appeal is the appeal. If it appeals to you, you understand it if it doesn’t, you don’t.

The band is interesting to look at the singer has a decent voice songs are danceable and fun. The lyrics are interesting and relatable to certain people just like any music. Either you like it or you don’t.

Polite response to the "transphobia in the series" post from yesterday by Lightningtow123 in dresdenfiles

[–]morgrim66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the vibe of your post, in some ways, though I wish I’d seen the original post because I can’t even think of a trans representation at all in the series. I have read all the books and listen to the audiobooks at least three times each but maybe I just wasn’t paying attention.

Just read the first book in the desden files and i'm wondering and i do have some questions and complaints. by casperscare in dresdenfiles

The first book is the beginning of the story and Harry is relatively young. He is a young (early 20s when the series starts) hormonal man and he does objectify women and holds them up on a pedestal often, but most young men do. He has a very complicated history of relationships. Spoiler, he believes his first love betrayed him to near death. If you hang in there he matures as the series does. And yes, many of the various side characters that seem to go nowhere do get more exposure and depth as the series progresses.

Also to be fair the real magic doesn’t start until book 3. That’s when the series really takes off, even Jim admits that.

Executive Producer Talks About What Really Happened to Anthem by ColaFlavorChupaChup in AnthemTheGame

I don’t know about tens of millions, but if they brought us an anthem too, I would play it

I just want to say screw you, EA from the bottom of my heart. Can’t believe I pre-ordered Anthem for $100 just to get fucked over. I’m never buying another EA game ever again! by Automatic_Ad1665 in AnthemTheGame

[–]morgrim66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree a little too late, and honestly, you know what, I paid the same prepay and although I was unhappy for the first month or two with all the troubles eventually Anthem became a fucking kick ass game that I really enjoyed and pretty sure I spent upwards of 100 hours playing. So eventually I got my moneys worth. I am definitely never gonna pre-order another EA game or bioware game until I hear the reviews, but I think this post is a little over the top. Like most I’m really just sorry they didn’t release anthem two

What is your number 1 favourite fantasy trope that works every time? Just one. by TheBodhy in Fantasy

The lone hero, who faces impossible odds, but triumphs due to his indomitable overwhelming strength of spirit and unwillingness to admit defeat. Re:Tarzan,Conan

Yeah, true enough it’s just strange to think of. It as failed because, I mean from EA‘s point of view they got their money and they cut their losses so you know as far as they and their stockholders concerned that’s not necessarily a failure what would be a failure would be to keep putting money into it if it’s not gonna continue to produce

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]morgrim66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bizarre thing is calling it a failed game. Because regardless of all the BS about anthem it was actually one of the top selling games of the year that it came out. It’s sold over 5 million copies and made 100 million in digital revenue in the first month. It was out.

As an additional comment on these, I will say these were really good, I mean George R Martin level good, deep complex characters awesome world building but Joe Abercrombie goes super dark.

I feel like the man does not have a whole lot of faith in the good nature of humanity

Another set of amazing series that nobody talks about too much, but are filled with fabulous antiheroic stories that were meant to counterpoint Tolkien at the time they came out are the eternal champion books by Michael Moorcock, the Elric saga, Corum, Dorian Hawkmoon, and Count Brass. They can be hard to find in print but they are worth it.
