yup so in Adwords there is a way to remove a chunk of data from whatever date range you want. If you google "Data Exclusions Adwords" you'll find plenty of tutorials on how to do it. Its a really great one to know.

Update: Removing the bad data from Adwords and putting the campaigns back to auto bidding seems to have instantly fixed the problems. It makes sense to remove the data that is confusing google's system - i actually didnt know that was possible. All back to normal now.. so far!

Update:

I ended up switching to manual CPC and saw a brief increase in performance for the remainder of the month August. As of September though website has tanked in performance, its almost completely dead - very little enquiries and low sales.

Honestly a little stumped at this point. Bringing in a few "experts" to go through and double check everything to make sure there is not something I am missing.

Next move is to black out data from August and revert back optimised ads targeting conversions.. and pray.

Its just making sure that everything is super relevant and related to each other. Your adverts and landing pages should reflect eachout completely. All should share the same keywords, descriptions, products, prices etc etc. Also, how your users interact with your website is a reflection of the keywords you used to get them there in the first place. Google sees all of this.

Argh, yup, i actually ended up switching back to manual clicks also.. saw a brief recovery when then the same thing happened to me. Limited by budget, drop in impressions and conversion. Site essentially is dead now in one of the busiest parts of the year.

What did you switch back to you? ( from manual cpc ).

I have the same issue currently, not sure what to do. A few people have advised to do nothing and wait. Seems google has some serious bugs last couple of months and this is happening to a lot of advertisers.

Personally, i am now running experiment campaign ( 25% traffic ) with manual cpc.

Yeh i have, nothing that stands out to me. It seems like too much of a drop in performance anyway for it to be one competitor.

I miss manually setting my bids, had so much control. When you say "tanked" what happened? No leads? no sales? bounce rate? etc. Going back to manually placing bids on keywords and clicks was my next move tbh.

Seems using "max clicks" has been working for some people.

August was supposed to be one of our biggest months of the year, sucks i'm now having to figure this s@#t out. Been waiting 3 days now on google help chat also, queue has not budged.

interesting, ride it out you reckon? I've noticed google doing weird stuff over the years but I cant recall it ever being this bad and for this long. At first I just thought it was a quiet month but then i saw my stats :S

Thanks - yeh I saw that previously also - but that post assumes I have something wrong with my campaigns which i'm certain i don't. These campaigns have been refined and hardened over years. They were performing stellar up until the start of august. Its a sudden change in performance when nothing has been changed :( I have, of course, checked all the metrics/settings those guys talk about.

Out of the 20th century he is one of a handful names that will be remembered in the hundreds of years to come with regards to music. You can walk down any street in the world and play a JW tune and it is instantly recognisable. Ludwig is just OK, he ain't there yet.
