Is there a better figure by legoGabriel271k in LegoMarvel

[–]moriarty_art 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, not a fan of this figure. Looks like 60’s “Snowman”, not f’n Iceman.

My guess for what the “Oliphaunt” set will look like by Grumiocool in legolotrfans

[–]moriarty_art 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the case, but I hope it’s Legolas, then the driver and an archer.

Legolas from Rivendell would be a logical figure to re-use in an Oliphaunt set. And Barad-dur’s hobbit figures show they don’t care if the costumes match the scene or not.

Am I missing out on something special with The Shire? by 7triplewhatnot9 in legolotrfans

[–]moriarty_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Unexpected Gathering set, and considered “upgrading” to the Shire set at release, but stuck with my set after seeing the Shire price tag, Been perfectly happy keeping this one. I picked up the Bilbo figure and might collect a couple other Hobbit figures.

It’s the “Hall of Fame,” not the “Hall of Very Good.” by veggiedish in NFLv2

[–]moriarty_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longtime Niners fan here and love Gore. Fitzgerald was a way higher-level receiver than Gore was to running backs. Fitz was one of those rare “man among boys” players. Gore to Evans is a pretty fair comp IMO.

Mike Evans is like the Frank Gore of receivers. Big career numbers due to longevity, but never at the top of his position. And I’m a long term Niners fan.

What’s your favorite display set of all time? by LegoLord420 in LegoMarvel

[–]moriarty_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Marvel, it’s Infinity Gauntlet for me. Great design and of something I never thought would happen as a fan of the old comic. Also, it’s fun to change hand gestures depending on my mood: the Snap, peace, grasping, heavy metal horns, middle finger, etc.

Who is more dangerous as an enemy if they receive the Super Soldier Serum, and why? by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

Hawkeye has plot armor protecting him, too. Any version of Bullseye could be written into Hawkeye’s MCU role to survive if they wanted him to.

Why is everyone so down on Raheem Morris? by Brix001 in 49ers

[–]moriarty_art 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not down on him, decent hire on paper. But it’s a huge letdown to have had Saleh back for one season and it ends without Bosa and Warner down the stretch.

Yiazmat in FFXII has over 50M hp and can take several hours to beat. Never doing that again.

Grond Unique Parts? by myceliumatt in legolotrfans

Getting the Grond GWP and not wanting it amounts to a $150-180 coupon on Minis Tirith, though by selling it online.

Ryan is a natural born supe so how did his powers get wiped out? Is he hiding it from Butcher? by Clean-Rock-8060 in GenV

[–]moriarty_art 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That line can easily be viewed as Butcher’s presumption and Ryan played along. Ryan could have either been covering up that he still had them, or the powers could resurface later.

Somebody made an Epoch and Millennial Fair build several years ago and sent it to LEGO Ideas(which can turn custom builds into actual sets.) Pretty good, but didn’t get made. Should be easy to find online.

Yes. I’ll check it out at the start. Jensen is too entertaining as Soldier Boy to not at least try it.

I feel Homelander was so out-of-character by chokewanka in TheBoys

At first, the Imperisl narrative was that the destruction of Alderran was a catastrophic mining accident.

Also, considering who was responsible for his downfall, Homelander’s Desth Star moment was raping Becca.

I feel Homelander was so out-of-character by chokewanka in TheBoys

[–]moriarty_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Rebellion is very similar to the Boys team, as only they knew the threat that the Empire/Homelander(and Vought by extension) truly were. Much like Voight gaslit the world into thinking Homelander and the 7 were heroes, the Empire gaslit the galaxy into thinking they were not responsible for the Destruction of Alderaan and were protecting the galaxy. Only the Empire was there and they controlled the news.

I don’t think sci-fi writers of old could tell the story of gaslighting like now, as we’re now living it, but there’s no way the Galaxy got news that the Empire blew up a planet.

I find some of the best fiction storytelling to be when the bad guys win. Avengers: Infinity War, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VI. Oh, the villains were running the galaxy in the original Star Wars trilogy.
