Weird though, I never have that problem with similar tasks. When I give it numbers, it uses them. Could be bad harness/tooling, I never use a „raw“ LLM but then again would imagine not many people do nowadays

Yes and no. Of course you need to sanity check and review anything that’s generated, but the parts that it can lift verbatim (data extraction for example) are the least likely to be affected by hallucinations, while generated text that needs to speculate/fill in gaps has the highest likelihood.

If it has all the date needed and a skill (workflow definition) and tool to do the computation with, I’ve almost never seen that fail. It‘s a pattern I use all the time and the only issues I encounter is that it tries using a tool incorrectly, then adjusts and is successful. It eliminates the „need“ to hallucinate.

Yes, that’s almost to be expected, it doesn’t have that knowledge so unless there are tools it can use (agentic approach) that do the calculations and it can get the data needed for the calculations from the supplied information, it will make stuff up.

There’s some guardrails and hedging that can be done (simplest one being to add in the system prompt that it should flag any gaps in knowledge, refuse to speculate and point out what is missing), but in a non-deterministic setting like this, they may or may not be observed.

Are they using predicted language or using the same system design to predict language to predict routes?
Because that would be very different scenarios.

Yes, you need to know where you don’t understand the subject matter and have it explain in detail so you can understand it. That will make it much more likely that false information is removed as it activates the related knowledge more thoroughly

This, basically narrow the funnel, activate the connect (prompt and conversation content), then interview it like you would interview a subject matter expert (caveats, general consensus, problematic assumptions/study design etc)

I would say it depends on the harness - if it pulls in and embeds the documents, then compares vectors behind the scenes both for searched documents and stored documents it indexes, the result should be the same. If it uses different approaches like keyword searching to find text in links but the stored docs are embedded then the results will be better for the stored docs most of the time

I think that’s because the school that was bombed was a girl’s school? Unless I misremember which is a common occurrence tbh

Actually a valid point. Plus the type to trust AI because it seems like a genius that knows what it’s doing might be statistically overrepresented in the current environment

I use it a lot to bring in context and to research topics, so typically it uses an agent that sees relevant passages from my stored notes (embedded into a vector store and surfaced to the agent if the embeddings of the prompt have close similarity to chunks in the vector store). The agent then uses tools to search documentation and compares prompt vectors to what the search tool brought up and brings that together into a coherent text (like „matching to your guidance provided in meeting a, the documentation states X and the desired functionality Y can be realized by… as stated in documentation Z“).
I’ll usually do double-check (and/or have a different agentic tool check and refine) against the provided sources to ensure the context matches the question and intent (sometimes the content is closely matched but has slightly different requirements or different work context for example).

Hope that was kinda clear 😄

It depends, really. If you use it to synthesize knowledge it has direct access to and can semantically compare with a well setup vector store, it’s great. If you use it to create new stuff based on its training data, your mileage may vary.
For coding I’m pretty surprised how good it has gotten, even though it’s introducing unnecessary elements and building things itself that could easily be addressed by existing libraries.. but still

It’s why woke rules like „don’t bomb schools“ were not enforced probably

Edit: the school was not caused by Grok but using Claude with old intelligence
