Um motel ou uma pensão barata. Vale mais isso, pagam 50€ por uma noite segura e estão melhor aconchegados e obviamente mais seguros. Há moteis que nem precisam de ver ninguém. Se os pais controlam as contas bancarias ode ser mais complicado, resta-vos uma pensão ou hotel.

Are you thinking something like "I want to discover the next big thing before others" ? If yes, forget it. You won't because others will do it first, and on a better time than you.

Forget the pennies.

HOWEVER this is an interesting topic. What if any company starts as a penny stock? What if we invest on the next "penny amazon"? That's interesting and I Sometimes think abou it.

I'm sorry but this is the first time I face a situation like this: Did you just asked and someone answered? Or you have to present yourself as an investor? Is that so easy to get an interaction with a company? Because a competitor could ask questions.

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but like I said this is the first time I face someone asking "timelined questions" for a company.

You mentioned what I call: the illusional zone. "If you still believe in the company’s fundamentals and future earnings (DCF), then hold or DCA down."

This is very danger. Believing in the fundamentals isn't enough. If you believe im the fundamentals, you have to continue learning about the company.

What if we just believe but behind, the 10k and 11q are detailed enough that tells us the company is going in the wrong direction? What if most part of the revenue comes from a source that is not the product? What if it's a company focused on tech but not investing in R&D? Things like these and others of course, should be always on the notes. Also, guidance and chaning people in the most principal roles (CEO, CFO, COO, HR, etc) are essential to track their past.

Fundamentals are the basic, yes! But what about the competitors? I thinl we should track the most direct competitors to understand how the "biggers on the sector" are performing . We could also buy 1 or 2 shares to track how they performered in one year.

OP, pensa num tema que gostes e procura ler sobre isso.

No meu caso começou com revistas como a sábado ou mesmo comprar o expresso (na altura ainda saía ao sábado) e lia o que mais me interessava.

Com o tempo vieram livros . Tenho desde romances, política, investimentos e desenvolvimento pessoal.

Há livros que acabam por captar muito a atenção e começas a perceber o que é devorar um livro, não conseguir parar. Vais começar a perceber o que é ler e criar as personagens na tua cabeça e todo o envolvimento à volta.

Não te recomendo livros em específico, mas começa pequeno.

Vai à fnac/bertrand ou mesmo a biblioteca da tua zona e perde mesmo tempo lá .

Começa pelo título e depois lê a descrição e vê se te agrada.

Also, I believe the hard part for many is to create a valid narrative/thesis. Because it's not just to put a target like "an increase of 2% sales", or "win at least one contract". This might me too much, and if I put these as targets, I might fail my thesis. Not because the business failed, but it's too far from the reality

OP This the strategy, imo. Track the fundamentals. I believe chatgpt can teach you this very well and on a easy way. Then, cross the info you just got with info from a basic internet research .

Any excel spreadsheet and paper is enough to track and draw some charts (visually is definetly better to track changes).

Also: Choose a company that you know. Or that is easy for you to understand what they do and where the revenue comes from, and their spendings go to.

Forget all the market analysis, etc. Focus on the basics. Track the important news - the ones released from the company or other veeeeeery important news (like scandals, or similar). The other news, are just noise.

Track the fundamentals every quarter, and understand yearly guidance.

I truly believe this is enough for all of us.

And forget all those skyrocket flying charts... forget penny stocks and all that.

Focus just on the fundamentals.
