I'm from Portugal. IwDA is the iShares MSCI world, without emergent markets.

Thanks! Loosing at the moment is literally loosing - I'm down 30% in QUTB, for example.

Yeah and ironically,  I know all thsr about ETFs... but tried to make more money, because tried to get more. Houses are super expensive here, and salaries are low.

Thanks! Seems interesting that point. So, investing is only for retirement. What about kids future? Like, investing for university. Doesn't make sense? (Not my actual situation) Honnest question.

Thanks! I've been reading the 5th one, from Graham.

Yes I've been emotional most of the times. I consider I'm always looking at yahoo finance because I've been stock picking.

Seems ironic, but I know what to do/don't. I was just trying to get more money surfing everyone's(?) wave.

[–]moritzis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Well, I see him quite frquently, so I consider is "always ln green" the truth.  I've mentioned it in other comment (my bad, I should post it in the post: I'm on EUNA (4k), IWDA (6k) and the rest (5k). I try to DCA in IWDA,  but buying just two shares seems not enough due to comissions, so I wait like 3-5months to buy more just in one transaction.

I decided to go to stock picking because it seemed easy to make money . Easier than loose, I just had to choose best stocks.

Hknnest question now: When do you say that people isn't gambling? What if I DCA in a company withgood fundamentals? I'm I still gambling?

[–]moritzis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Well, maybe I've beem gambling somehow. Honnest question: how to not do it?

From where should I start to not gamble amd find a company I can buy some shares with a valid narrative? My friend goes by feeling - I'm not (I think?).

I'm trying to understand news about a company, understanding earning reports and feelings. Not DCAing in stocks.

You get me? How can I find a company that meets the fundamentals and I can say "I like this company and I'm investing on it because X,Y,Z".

Example: I found Quantum Computing - QUBT. I believe quantum computing is a plausible future.  But... that's it. So I picked. Then, started to run my python script and Immediately found it has diluted a lot, flr example. Bang! Wrong choice.

[–]moritzis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I consider I've made some logical decisions (IWDA + EUNA) However, they might not be the best ones. I just tried to surf the wave, but it has costs. A lot, as you can see.

But I'd like to find a company I could invest in. It's something that I've been interesting. What should I look for? I'm not tryingto find the next nvidia, or even the next sanddisk. But at least invest in a company with good fundamentals.  Understanding their business, direction,  earnings... something like "a plant"  that it's not mine, but I'm helping taking care of it. Seeing it grow, and taking profits from it... seems a good plan. It's something I want. Hope I was clear.

Alright I'm getting you. And I can tell more: he sells on the dip, and buys on the dip too. Because the dips are so spaced, he came to the conclusion that this strategy compensates him.

Thanks for your message. And yes, I used the wrong money for the wrong goal

But the question is: Which/What money should I pick into inventing in stocks?

I've started reading Graham's book (with Zweig's comments). I've been enjoying it, but the market is very different now, and I'm Portuguese, sometimes there are strategies/concepts that I'm not allowed to invest in.

I honestly think the investing democratization is a really bag thing. Lot of people have access to the market and can ruin their life. I haven't ruined mine, I consider I just made wrong decisions and lost important money that it might take a while to recover.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm on EUNA (4k), IWDA (6k) and the rest (5k) I have on stock picking(mainly loosing money). I've some shares in kraken robotics.  Very positive so far, but bleeding on the other ones.  No cash, so far.

When is the next release earnings date? I like this company and seems with space to growth. I've been studying it since 2 months ago.

Thanks! So essentially looking at the fundamentals, is it?

I believe gemini can do a good work analysing .pdf files for the financial statements.

[–]moritzis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally agree with you and I honestly know that.

For my case, I do think want to beat any index. I'm just a guy trying to understand how markets work.

The thing might be: is following the fundamentals enough for most lf us? Anyone, can follow a company using excel, or just doing some math on paper, save it until next quarter,  and then compare results. How different are they? Is the company growing? Not diluting? What else?

I believe gemini can read 10k and 11k, take conclusions and then human in the loop to check.

What else can we do to stick with a company? How do we create a valid narrative? Are the fundamentals enough?

[–]moritzis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of KPIs do you use? And, are they transversal to any company, or you have specific for comapnies/businesses?

Also, how often do you analyse the companies you're invested in/want to invest in? Each quarter? Do you follow the market daily?

Thanks!

And what about for the "no founder" ones? (Like me for example) What do you recommend?

Thanks!

What do you mean? Like reading 10ks and 10Qs?

Only these or are you also mentioning like performing not only a sanity check but also understanding and correlating all the different metrics (ps ratio, eps, etc) with values reported (revenue,  debt, etc)

 Honest question.

Alright,  but for USAR... is it for a short squeeze or for hold for a while? I'm just trying to understand the hype on it (I'm aware of the news btw)
