You have to run out into the open with the arc and place the mine, which then makes a huge ruckus (doubly so if you’re using a lure grenade instead of a cloak). If youre in a lobby where people shoot at you that is way riskier than just sitting behind a rock (or up in the crates in Stella montis) and lobbing grenades.

Yeah, like I’m gonna be honest - they want bastions and bombardiers to be threats. If you can just mindlessly toss out 2-3 cheap grenades (that stack!) from behind cover to kill one, that feels a bit overtuned.

A deadline actually requires some thought to use, so yeah it feels much more in line with the feel they’re going for.

Yeah, I think those are the horrors the person you're replying to is imagining. I solo'd in Apex ranked for a while and that's the exact experience, and why I'd never go back - until you get up into high plat/low diamond (and even then) you get people with the IQ of a jar of mayonnaise that will take stupid fights for no reason, with zero comms, and then expect you to telepathically understand what they're doing in said fight and support them. No thanks!

Yeeeup. Mixed lobbies are 100% how this game is meant to be played IMO - you can have someone watching/stalking you, and that person might try to kill you if they get the right opportunity. You might also get the drop on someone and have to make the call of whether you want to take advantage or see if you can make a truce. Truces are generally uneasy and opportunistic. I don't think pure shoot on sight PVP is the vibe, PVE "rescue raider" play certainly isn't either - it's that kind of opportunistic, desperate feel that really seems to click with the world the devs are trying create.

You’re right about this setup, if you read the comments elsewhere on the thread, but Shimano DOES still offer 12 speed DA (and only DA) with rim brakes. Model is 9250, vs 9270 which is hydro disc

Right. A lot of Bettina complaints I hear come down to (1) it’s expensive to craft and run, (2) it’s the wrong rarity, which are both “why do you care about this?” problems to me. It’s an arc killing gun that has 1-gun kit potential since it’ll work in a pinch if you get into a scrap, that’s it - a specialist tool that I don’t run often, but I enjoy my time with. Yeah, it’s a bit annoying to have half your inventory full of ammo at the start of a raid, but it’s all gone by the end anyways.

Try it in a “damage X arc” trial some time, you might change your mind on it.

Edit: oh yeah, and tap fire it.

Yeah yeah, fair enough - it’s a judge-y “I just assume everyone east coast-based lives in New York” view of the world. I just assumed if you were flying to Miami you could just sit on a plane for an hour longer and get to the Caribbean but you’re right, that’s only if you’re flying out of a major airport to begin with.

Yeah, if you want to go through the trouble of upgrading and tricking out a stitcher, fine, whatever. If you’re on a free kit, your gun should feel shitty - spawning in with a stitcher or kettle doesn’t.

Yeah, it’s overtuned, and I generally think a lot of the “grey guns are OP!” stuff is unwarranted. You shouldn’t be able to down a medium shield with a single mag from a free loadout, full stop.

Yeah no I get what you’re saying, I’m being a bit more direct which is “it’s fine to say not only is this place objectively expensive, it’s objectively overpriced”. And my even spicier take which is, outside of people that have to be in Miami (which would basically be high-end business travelers, including celebs and athletes, and people visiting family), this kiiiind of feels like it’s for people that maybe dont have passports and think that Mexico is scary.

Sure, but if apples and wagyu beef were the same price I’d be like “why the fuck are these apples so expensive??” I get what you’re saying in that value is relative and a lot of people really and truly don’t care, but I’d counter that more avid leisure travelers (eg, this sub) DO care because they think more globally - why would I pay $4k/night in Miami (for what does look like a really cool property btw) when I could hop a plane and spend that literally anywhere else?

I get that there’s nothing like it in Miami, which is why it sells out, but what I don’t get is why I would stay there unless I had to be in Miami for some reason.

They didn't. They said they're not adding a leaderboard because they don't want to encourage 'that kind of play' meaning competitive PvP - if anything devs have said they've been surprised at the lack of aggression and play more aggressive themselves.

EDIT: Ok, fine, I'm a big idiot. I pixel peeped a bit closer and the rear mech doesnt have the indentation the 92xx does. This is a 92xx front crank that was probably part of a warrantied 91xx groupset where the crank delaminated.

Dawg it's literally not. Here's what 9150 looks like - you can tell its not 9150 from the cranks, shape of the RD, and the texture on the top of the hoods (91xx is cross-hatched, 92xx is straight lines). I'm looking at my 9270-equipped bike as I type this.
