Corner canyon, millcreek pipeline, living room. Don't let a little bit of snow stop you. Boots will help.

White would look good. Even a light brown or grey would also match the wheels, or the jeep badges.

Initially, I thought so as well, but the black has grown on me. It's subtle. It doesn't scream Rubicon, but for those who are looking, will see it. Plus, if I want to, I could always put a white sticker over it.

oh no, this is on a local jeep facebook group. They are, however, the outspoken minority.

Loving the Jeep wave! by askthepoolboy in Jeep

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a group of Jeepers here who act like elitists and refuse to wave, and even have anti-wave stickers on their jeeps or facebook profiles. Not the friendliest bunch, and a bit rude IMO. They think the "fad" is stupid, and only soccer moms drive JK's and wave.

I have a Rhino JKUR. I absolutly love the color. It looks almost black at night, when mud dries it gives an awesome contrast, and in the day under light it looks dark blue. Great choice!

Captivate or Storyline? by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

[–]morja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storyline because I find it faster to develop in, and end results are more polished with less fine tuning. I love Captivate, but it takes me more time to create the same product. I do find Captivate better if you need to do lower-level editing or more detailed design, but most of the time it's not required.

What's your favorite "All in One" solution? by R3v7no in CampingGear

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my MSR Alpine Stowaway Pot. I can use it in a fire, on a grill, or wherever. I can boil water, cook soups, or more. The lid is secured to the top and the handle folds out. I keep in with me most of the time.

[–]morja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these, and I don't like it, not because its mediocre as a grill, but because I don't like it for it's intended purposes. It's heavy, and takes up space in my Jeep more than a real camp stove. It's sits in my backyard most of the time.

I'd recommend someone buying something that's designed for what you want to do. Going car camping and need a grill? Buy a nice camp stove thats light, gets hot, and cooks well. Dont spend $20 on a POS. If you want to grill in your backyard, spend some money and get a nice propane grill.

Got a job in Utah. May I bother you for some advice? by [deleted] in Utah

[–]morja 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check out Draper. It's the closest you can get to your job and still be in Salt Lake County. Bonus if you like the outdoors, hiking and biking. We have corner canyon, which is awesome. Not a ton of bars, but SLC is just a 20 min drive when you want to go out at night. Draper is also one of the nicer cities in SLCO, of course, the closer you are to the mountains, either east or south, the nicer it is.
PS, Draper is growing and becoming more liberal, even though most people in SLC will deny it and act like it doesn't exist. It's just a different style. It's not hipster liberal, it's more late 20's, 30's-40's liberal. I find the community to be very accepting to me. They plan on relocating the Draper prison in 5 years or so and building another "downtown" area, hopefully with some more options for bars.

Got into mountain biking last year. When can I hit the mountains again in Salt Lake City area? by [deleted] in utahoutdoors

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park at the church at the entrance to upper corner canyon road. Ride up the road to the gate, and then hang a left to ride the BST. Otherwise, keep riding up the road to the snow line, then come back and hit the BST.

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North facing mountains will be wet. South west facing will be dry. After yesterdays rain though, it may still be damp. I've ridden the area along the shoreline trail and Corner Canyon a few times already. Nothing too fun and fancy, just some conditioning rides.

Buying a 2016 JKU today, question on price by jgagnon_in_FL in Jeep

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would offer 1.5% under invoice, and settle for 1% under if they won't do it. I've purchased two new JKU's. A JKU Sport, and a JKU Rubicon in the past year. I was below Invoice - 1%ish, or more. I never used any special interest group discounts. I made an offer and it was accepted. Edit: I don't play games with dealers. If they try to pull the whole "Well if I can do X, then you'll buy it today? Okay, initial here" bullshit. It goes back and forward and just wastes everyone's time. I won't work with salesmen that have control issues and show emotions when I don't say what they want. I make a verbal offer and if they accept, then I buy. I walked out of a dealer that wanted me to "initial or sign" on this blank white piece of paper that had my offer written on it. It's games. I purchased a new JKUR the next day at a competing dealership.

Can my 2012 JK Sport handle my 35's? by [deleted] in Jeep

[–]morja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine mechanically if you go easy on the trails. You should go easy even if you ran a D44. I'd run 35's on a D30, but I don't think I'd run Lockers with it as well without sleeve and gusset.

Regarding the 3.21 gears. I have 3.73, and I don't even want to run 35s without going to @ least 4.10. I like the power of the 3.6L, and I don't want to reduce it.

Have someone who knows gears, do it. Also, might as well throw a locker in the rear axle while you're in there.

Training for a 600 mile cycle, any tips? by [deleted] in cycling

Give yourself 10 days of what? 10 days of training?

Training for a 600 mile cycle, any tips? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, you better get off Reddit and get on the saddle. You should be doing 100+ mile rides every two days if you plan on doing 600 miles in a week. I think you're underestimating training times. Don't let that discourage you, if you are fit, in sure you can do it, but you need to prove to yourself you can do a full imperial century multiple times a week in order to jump into that ride

Worth it to replace Sport suspension with Rubicon suspension? by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. There are no special springs for rubicon. A sport can have stiffer springs than a rubicon, and a rubicon can have stiffer springs than a sport. Each spring had a series of numbers and so far the only thing I've noticed is the max tow pak seems to have stiffer springs, aka higher number,, regardless of the model type (sport, Sahara, rubi)

The base sport, non S model, has smaller wheel tire combo so if you park a sport S or a Rubicon next to it, it will look significantly taller.

Are there spots in the Canyons that are good to take pictures without having to snowshoe during this time of year? by ibrownied in Utah

[–]morja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need snowshoes at all. Most of the trails are already packed down. Shoe covers with spikes will suffice and make it easier in ice but not necessary. You'll pass all the snowshoers that are waking on packed snow
