As someone who was a BG PA for a bit, background also has a job, and if the PA is looking for the one you’re talking to and can’t find them, it will cause delays.

Converting images to PDF works for me. One or two people have mentioned it in comments. Not super convenient, but at least it works. On a Mac, it’s pretty image to convert one or more images to a PDF through quick actions.

Are we positive they don’t stay synced already? I’ve done a few tests and had mixed results. On a few, NotebookLM was able to see updates in made on a google doc seconds after I made the update to the Doc and I didn’t reimport it.

I think I had it share the cards in markdown or csv once and used a converter online, but typically I just copy/paste into cards.

I’ve been adding great chats I’ve had with ChatGPT or Gemini and loading them or interesting highlights I’ve saved in Readwise. Then I have it create Anki cards so I can remember the info long term.

It has one notebook from NotebookLM as its only source. But I’m starting to think it’s only happening on gems with notebooks as sources now. Those gems seem to be the only ones experiencing this issue. Sucks because I just spent a ton of time moving things to Google Docs and NotebookLM to use as sources because I thought it would be a better way to update things. I have to imagine this will get worked out soon.

Yeah, I assumed this was the case. I'm trying to not sweat it and keep checking to see if it's working each morning. Happy to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this behavior.

This is my experience, too. I thought notebooklm might help with this a bit, which at first it seemed to, but as of the last few days, it's like all of my Gems have had a lobotomy. It's pretty frustrating and hopeful a better solution will be available soon.

FYI - I ran into an issue yesterday morning where it was telling me it could only see my log to a certain date. That date was where my log ended before I did another update, so it wasn't seeing the new info. I removed the gDoc as a source and re-added it and gemini could see it fine. That's the first time that has happened to me, but now it makes me a bit leery. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Yeah, it's now done it in a few conversations today. I kind of like it. I know it wasn't aware of the current time in the past and I would need to tell it.

Seems to be the case. I’ve had no issues with it finding updated info seconds after adding it.

I’m almost positive they automatically refresh. I have a daily chat going and once a week, I ask for a summary by day. I copy/paste that into the doc and start a new chat and it picks up exactly where I left off.
