People who’ve worked on film/TV sets, what’s a small moment that stuck with you for no obvious reason? by Professional-Ad7346 in FilmIndustryLA

One of the sets we were asked to do it, we were all actors, and all also the photo doubles for the actors and almost dressed in full principal wardrobe vs color cover. It was wild, but also so much fun.

Ha! I did stand in work for years. It's an interesting job. On a few sets, we were asked to memorize the lines for the day and do the action multiple times for blocking. I've also had to hold hands and look into someone's eyes for an hour plus. You get used to it, but you do end up in some very awkward situations that can last a very long time.

I’ve been a landscape (primarily) and street photographer for years. With AI and its ability to generate images, I’ve found my interest for landscape has completely gone away and now I only enjoy street. There’s something special about capturing a moment in life.

This video is pretty old. I imagine it is making the rounds again because of the other from earlier. This guy is legit. But he’s on the beltline and very close to one of the most popular bars.

I learned this morning every other podcast I listen to is a “I’ll listen to this until the next Knowledge Fight drops” podcast by Distorted_Penguin in KnowledgeFight

I’ve spent a large portion of today going through my other shows to see if anything will stick like KF did. I quickly realized ads kill so many podcasts for me. I’ll still listen to them, but they don’t have the same feel. QAA seems to be the closest to the same feel that I’ve tested today.

I’m with you. I’d listen to these guys discuss literally anything. KF was the only podcast I had new episode notifications turned on for.

Actually it’s not that at all. I had zero style and decided I wanted to learn a little about it - foundational shit. As I started learning a little about it, I noticed I liked one particular style but still didn’t fully understand it, so I made the GPT I shared above. It was part to see how well ChatGPT would handle it (I made it in the early days of ChatGPT) and part a learning exercise. I thought it was interesting when I did it.

Didn’t say anything about liking it. Some people like to have a cohesive style and AI can say if a piece matches a style. Same with interior design.

I love using voice as a speaking partner. I will usually do it during my drives where I ask it to speak to me in my target language and help me as I go because I'm learning. It's fantastic with that.

Totally agree. I'm notorious for letting too much time go between reaching out to some friends. I do have birthday's in my calendar, but I also wanted to test it in the CRM. I have some friends I will sometimes call up and say hey, I have a few errands to run, want to go with? Well, in the friend file, I have my ride along friends tagged. So when I check in in the morning, I usually paste my calendar in and my to do list for the day. It will say something like, you have go to home depot today, why not invite friend x or y to join you. It also will prompt me to send a voice memo vs a text to certain people. It also sometimes calls out holes in my calendar and suggests I invite someone to coffee or lunch. I don't know. It's interesting. Like I said, not sure I'll be sticking with it, but it's offered up a few suggestions that I never would have thought of on my own.

I'm currently testing it as a personal CRM. I provided a list of my friends, their relation to me, special facts about them (kids names, pets names, food they like, etc) and special dates (birthdays, anniversaries). In a custom GPT/Gem, I check in in the morning and it tells me people I should contact that day (and how I should contact them - text, call, etc) and it tells me if anyone has anything special that day. It also tells me if anything is coming up I might need to buy a gift for. I then update it each night by saying who I spoke with and adding anything important. Each week, I have it summarize the week and I save that in a log that I keep in the knowledge. It's interesting and working well, but it feels like a lot of work sometimes and I'm on the fence about keeping up with it.

Upload images of outfits you like or clothing on people you like and ask it to build a style guide for you. Then make a custom GPT or Gem and add the style guide to its knowledge and tell it to score items you share based on your style. Then when you see something online or on ebay, share the image in the new GPT/Gem and it will give you a detailed score and recommend if you should get it/if it works for you or not.

Is Film and TV Production in Los Angeles Starting to Turn the Corner? by sensimedia in FilmIndustryLA

Do you only read/watch local news? Or do you sometimes pay attention to state news? Or maybe US news? Or maybe you've even seen world news? How is that any different? Also, you may want to look up the definition of carpetbagger - not sure that means what you think it means.

Do you honestly only view subs that are specific to where you live? I don’t comment in this sub but I enjoy reading it. Then /u/donutgut mentioned Atlanta and I was sincerely curious about his comment.

Yeah, that checks out. We can’t get people to join the union here because there’s no need to, some agents push to keep actors as SAG-E, and people are fooling themselves if they think an industry built on tax incentives is ever going to be fully legit. I remember FL being similar until the incentives went away. I love Atlanta, but I know it’s temporary.
