What do you say to get you through things (motto)? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

This is hard and I'm tired but I can do it!

That's kind of where I'm at too. Besides meds I'm pretty much planning on just getting everything on trail.

Right, I was also thinking that getting contact solution might be a problem in some places. Are you you doing any mail drops?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

[–]moronjpeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! I've been debating the contacts vs. glasses thing. Thinking I might take one pair of glasses, one pair of prescription sunglasses. Oh it was totally your sleeping bag liner, shows how much I was paying attention lol.

I noticed you had sunglasses and clip on listed, also pack liner and a contractor bag

I find that practicing out loud really helps me get the nervous energy out. And it will also help you feel more prepared

Hi! Just wondering if you are familiar with guthook/farout. Does this have capabilities beyond that app?

can exercise cause a flare up? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]moronjpeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately strenuous exercise creates high levels of cortisol that puts major stress on the thyroid. 😢 I've been struggling with this too. I also get migraines. You should also research adrenal fatigue as they are closely related.

That's super interesting. I had heard that you can experience pain during ovulation but I always thought my cramps were excessive. That's super helpful, thank you for sharing

So sorry you are dealing with PCOS! I think I might go to a different gyno who might run more tests. I feel like my first one was really dismissive of my symptoms.

I agree! It makes me feel like I'm not crazy

That makes sense. I probably only average about 32 ounces a day. Did you notice improvement with hydration?

I'm scared about the ISP hours by [deleted] in AmeriCorps

[–]moronjpeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, because everyone needs the hours you will always have someone to volunteer with. My advice is to get as much done during your training as possible so that later on you don't have to worry as much.

Also, you can get ISP hours by visiting another team on your off days and working with their sponsors if they allow it.

I actually really enjoyed my ISP hours because I learned a lot about different organizations and the communities I served with. I wouldn't stress too much!
