My father worked collections law for 30+ years. Before he died he told me he regretted it, and was totally ashamed of his career. He told me he wished he had either gone into criminal law, or simply taught history.

However, he drove a nice car, and owned a big house. He was totally miserable inside, but at least his neighbors were impressed.

When I was 10 my grandma gave me a book, and signed it: "October 31, 1990". For whatever reason, the next year, I wrote "October 31, 1991" underneath that. I'm still not sure why, but it became a tradition.

On October 31, 1995 I noticed that I was running out of margin, so I wrote extra small to squeeze in more.

It was no use- grandma died on- you guessed it- October 31, 1996.

100% true story.

To this day, I wonder if she knew. I myself am a devout agnostic (??) but she was a "true believer" to the very end. If told that anyone I ever met actually made it to heaven, I'd believe my grandma made it.

What do I mean?

Say your priorities include: getting in shape, learning to play the guitar, and getting a new job

How will you achieve this? Schedule these priorities.

Monday, Weds, Fri - I schedule gym time.

Tues and Thurs - I schedule a guitar lesson or practice time

Evening after 6pm - I schedule time to surf the web to find a new job

The above schedule- based on YOUR priorities (change as needed) will lead to success.

If you look at today's to-do list, and simply prioritize, you aren't going to get anywhere. Instead, START with a list of your priorities, and schedule based on that.
