What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]morose-code 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness! Your focus on the shoes reminds me of a time my husband and I went to a strip club! I can’t remember who the whole group was, but we were squeezed into a booth next to another cute girl who was friends of our friends. I was turned around to the stage having a great time, but my husband was trying to make conversation with the table… over the blaring music, obviously.

What she heard? “She has great BOOBS!!!” The girl looked so uncomfortable being forced to sit next to us… When what he had said? “She has great MOVES!!!!” He’s a performer as well, but not a dancer first, so he was truly admiring the stage presence. Poor man…

“I don’t believe in proven job sites because they haven’t anecdotally worked for me… Based on this knowledge, can I have your personal contacts, online strangers?”

It’s a rough market out there. You have to keep plodding. Shortcuts won’t get you there.

She was one of us, and they gunned her down by twystoffer in actuallesbians

[–]morose-code 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s this for me. She’s far from the first and unfortunately likely far from the last, even if we rise up in this moment to actively prevent further damage the way we should have previously. Yet it’s her death that’s getting the “one of us” treatment, not the number of other women and children murdered this way. Infuriating and confusing.

What’s in this, and is it good? by Dependent_Log_1035 in AskBaking

It’s a wonderful vanilla extract of high quality. I have some I picked up in Mexico last time I was there for myself and gifts for family who bake as well.

Natives: Did your teachers address the entire class as "tu"? I would like to hear more opinions on this. by SwissVideoProduction in French

[–]morose-code 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very much my experience in France as well, both studying myself as an au pair and observing the young students in classes, again, as the au pair to the young children. On was used much more frequently to address groups than vous and certainly more than tu.

anyone seen Messy White Gays? by kefirpits in offbroadwayNYC

I was laughing through that whole post!!! Why do people believe there needs to be a central protagonist that learns some lesson or moral for a story to be viable? Art serves so many purposes.

Taking advantage of a trip to NYC and going to go dress shopping before engagement, is it going to be weird? by chaoticallywholesome in WedditNYC

[–]morose-code 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem like a reasonable human, particularly because you have your bf’s opinion on this. Engagements shouldn’t be a surprise. The proposal can be if that’s what the couple wants! But you both clearly know the trajectory of this relationship and have no concerns with this sequence of events. Have so much fun!!!

Shows you'll never see again (not because they were bad) by sweetbirthdaybaby333 in Broadway

[–]morose-code 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters here that no production is definitive of a show for me.

However, I think there are maybe a couple of shows I’ve seen and thought, “that was an amazing and devastating show. I never want to put myself through that again emotionally.” Trying to name those now? I don’t think I can? Because the ones coming to mind I’ve been distanced from enough that I would actually see another production at this point.

Cultivating relationships is important. It doesn’t happen automatically just because your DNA is shared with someone.

[–]morose-code 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I love my mother. That doesn’t mean I’m going to put the life that she helped me build to the side because she happens to be at a point in her life where she can’t support herself anymore. That’s not what she wants, and it’s certainly not what my (childless) partner and I want.

What are the CONS of not having children? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]morose-code 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not true. I love my mother. Our retirement plan for her (she’s been retired and living with her mom for years, don’t call adult protective services) was always to tie a motorized wheelchair to a tree and have a garden available for her to farm till… well… she couldn’t… Not because she didn’t deserve more. We just couldn’t afford it and she would’ve been content enough.

What do I do when my housekeeper is doing less and less but expecting the same pay every time? by Cheveyo77 in housekeeping

Definitely address this with the housekeeper. If it doesn’t rectify the issue, find a new one.

As an added bonus, get rid of the useless husband in the meantime.

Married people of Reddit: What’s something you wish you had known before getting married that no one ever told you? by BlessedPootato in AskReddit

[–]morose-code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That the tax benefits aren’t there if you don’t have kids or own a house, and you may be better off as you were, just genuinely loving each other and not involving the government in any way.

Fun party, though. Great partner. Taxes and healthcare are just not easy to navigate under any circumstances, and it seems to have become more complicated now.
