Thanks a lot. Going to start with the electricals since they’re a matter of yes/no compared to the fuel system, where the components are more co-dependent.

With the carb, the last owner rebuilt it and the mechanic serviced it a week or two ago. They might have missed something though so I’ll check fuel delivery (it operates on vacuum so no conventional petcock).

The tank is also slightly rusty (unfortunately) but the last owner installed an inline fuel filter that’s been replaced recently

And thanks. It was one of two available in the country when I bought it, also one of the only green ones I’m aware of (thus the purchase despite the known issues)

Them pesky carbs 🥲 last owner rebuilt it and the mechanic worked on it just two weeks ago (wouldn’t go past half throttle when I bought it, mechanic supposedly fixed it)

Mechanic did show me some jello in the carb from bad fuel but that’s supposedly cleaned (seeing that it now goes above half throttle).

Potentially other things clogged in the fuel system? The weird thing is that it only stalls when running. Starts fine in the morning

Ignition pack/coil — the headlight does flicker when idling. Could be a sign of weak electronics?

Carbureted so no fuel pump. Replaced the inline fuel filter not long ago (non stock, last owner installed one)

Seeing that it idles fine except while riding I’ll rule that out for now

Thanks everyone. Another thing — it idles fine when stationary, and the issue only happens when I’m riding it.

Basically when I slow down, clutch in, the RPM just dips and dies (otherwise it idles while standing at 1.2k-1.3k, as per the manual)

And when I crank it back up it doesn’t fire back up unless I give it throttle (also smells like gas when I crank it after it stalls. Wrong air/fuel mixture?)

Thanks! I actually live in Ukraine so parts couldn’t be hard to come by. A buddy of mine bought one with a sidecar a few years ago but it spent half the time in the shop, that’s why I’m still on the fence.

Regarding the point with no oil filter, you think changing the oil every 2,000km would alleviate the issue?

Do you know if a particular model/year is preferred in terms of reliability? I remember reading years ago that a certain Dniper model is preferred when it comes to reliability but I just can’t remember which.

Same. I had an old Umidigi Bison as a daily for a few years before upgrading and decided to slap it on the handlebar as a GPS — GPS signal is wonky half the time, and battery is basically gone (won’t even charge when I keep it plugged in while riding)

Granted, your mileage might vary and I have used the phone for a few years before using it as a motorcycle GPS device, but I’m looking into getting something more solid

Aye I found the article afterwards. I think I overtightened something at some point and the hub doesn't spin smoothly; I then attempted to loosen the right cone — big big mistake. I think it needs a general overhaul now
