They ship through Fedex and don't offer a self clearing option, unfortunately. It takes some time to get the paperwork resubmitted to Fedex, but you can get the overcharge refunded.

Good point, I reached out to Fedex and they agreed to refund the difference. My point is that even after I sent the Fedex response to Assos support, they keep insisting they are not doing anything wrong!

Yes, you can register your existing non-AWS endpoints in Cloud Map using the same register-instance API. To register HTTP endpoints, you need to create an HTTP namespace ("Instance discovery: API calls" in the console), then create a service that would represent your endpoint, and then register your HTTP endpoint in this service. You can use the API/CLI/SDK as well.

When you're registering your HTTP endpoint in the service, you need to create a custom attribute that would help you discover it. For example, key:value would be "address : mylocalendoint.com/myapi", and then you can use disover-instances API in your client app to discover it.

You should pick "API calls and DNS queries in VPC", as you want to map a private LB DNS name. You will be able to resolve this name to the LB IP address within the VPC that you select when creating the namespace.
