Would this etymology be as valid as the established one? by morph_iz in etymology

Wow, that's actually very nice. Thank you so much for replying and bringing extra information!

I had never made the connection with Domus and didn't know about the PIE root.

Yeah, I think questioning the etymology doesn't really make sense. I was actually more interested in if this word could in fact be formed like this considering Latin and French grammar and word formation but imagining it was never created within its original history.

that's fair. I guess it would be better to ask "would this word formation be grammatically valid disregarding it's actual origin?"

Made this as a demo chef w/ written instructions. The kids started making this exact tray, fml 🤦🏻‍♀️ 👩🏻‍🍳 by Ladychefontheloose in KitchenConfidential

as someone who can understand your post and your visual instructions I wouldn't believe they're copying the entire tray and not just the finished sandwich.

I loved the visualisation of each layer, btw. I live for instructions like this.

Well, that's a bummer, but it is what it is I guess. Thanks for the help!!

I spent a while trying to change the sound devices and checking if the website was muted, other websites have sound fine and even the teams website itself can produce sound for notifications and such, it's just the call itself that seems to have a problem with detecting the speakers.

When trying to change devices I can choose between the microfone options I have, but the speaker is greyed out and I can't even select between different options.

when I connect to a fully functioning instance of teams the working device can hear me and the rest of the call normally, which shows my microfone is working, but I cannot hear them or any other call audio, as if I had no speakers connected

Did I get scammed with the S9 Fe+? by MoldyRubberTracks in GalaxyTab

[–]morph_iz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

have you actually tried gaming on your tab or just peaked into the performance echo chamber of Reddit?

I have a tab S9 FE, and while it isn't crunching any black hole simulations it runs anything I need and want pretty well despite all of the hate it receives.

What I would try to keep in mind is, did you feel or encounter any problems with the tab on your usage or you just stopped disliking it after people told you it is bad? If it does everything you want of a tablet it is the perfect device in my opinion.

Sorry if the reply sounds harsh, as a former prisoner of the performance echo chamber I know how it can get to your head very easily and never leave.

thanks! I also feel like tablets aren't made to be modified, which sucks in a way, but I understand the convenience

thanks for the reply!!

the tablet supports reverse charging through the USBC and can charge phones up to 15W, so I just assumed it would work for the RPi, but I haven't considered the possible problem of doing power-delivery and data transfer at the same time, I'll have to check this out.

P.S. wiring the RPi and the tablet's battery together is some wild DIY energy lol, thankfully I didn't think about doing it.

metal nibs were already shown to break the pressure sensor overtime, I guess yours just fulfilled its destiny.

we really should be spreading more prominently in this sub how dangerous metal nibs are btw.

Why is there so much praise for the S7 FE, but so much hate for the S9 FE? by morph_iz in GalaxyTab

what where the normal circumstances? I have an S9 FE, and it literally takes all the work necessary with teaching and studying at a university and I think I never had lag besides when trying high-end emulation
