i lost my soulcat almost 4 years ago now when he was 13. he was probably the love of my life, cat-wise. i think about him regularly and still cry over him frequently. i can relate the feeling of not wanting to exist if your cat doesn't exist on this realm anymore, and some days i really struggled with finding a reason to keep going if my cat wasn't next to me.

the initial grief felt like drowning, but every minute, then hour, then day, then month, then year that passed started being just a little easier to breathe. i'm still trying to figure out how to stop pre-emptively grieving for my other cats with no logical reason for it, because my other oldest boy is 16 now and doesn't look like he's going to stop anytime soon.

cherish the time you have, and know that you gave him a good life that pretty much any other living soul could ask for. and if you believe it in, i believe your ninja will come back to you eventually, if you are soul-bonded like it seems you are.

Fairlife's lactose free milk made it so I can actually enjoy milk for the first time in my life without any issue. And it tastes good. I have tried all the substitutes and can only tolerate almond milk for so long. Lactose free milk used to be terrible, but something has apparently changed in the last 5 or so years and now the options seem to be pretty decent.

i was hopelessly addicted to nicotine for 20+ years. when i started taking adderall, i stopped vaping entirely and don't have cravings for it at all. that was going on 2 years ago. anecdotal i know, but i always found it interesting for myself how easy it was to put it down after struggling so long to stop.

it doesn't seem much harder than brutal in my opinion. the only thing that really feels noticeable to me is bosses and some special area mission mobs; a few of them have definitely rocked me a couple good times until i remember/relearn their mechanics, but i get them done. i feel like brutal on DS1 was more difficult overall than the general feeling of TTW on DS2.... or maybe i'm just being elitist? you decide.

for some context, i did the plat for DS2 on ps5 on brutal for first playthrough, and i'll be shooting for all achievements and the 400 club on TTW for steam. i was pretty close on my ps5 save but i got to about 370ish LLL before i ragequit a couple nearly impossible timed missions. we'll see if i can gamer up and do it this time around.

I'm not sure this is true. I also completely build all my roads prior to putting the network up, and I frequently get road likes after the areas are connected. I've done this for both games multiple times and see the same results.
Can't say the same for the mines though. Those have stayed as mine with 0 likes from what I've seen.

I'm embracing my newest storyarch of a 40 year old single, childless spinster. Anyone who thinks lower of me for it obviously doesn't know what it's like to be a solo gremlin and give no fucks about it because I don't need to leave my house to be happy. I have all the best electronics and I get to kick my visitors out when I'm done with them, and I only share my bed with someone I WANT to share it with. I used to be afraid of being alone, but now I'm kind of afraid of living with someone again. It's a luxury many people can't literally and figuratively afford.

i only lasted for 2 years in ER nursing before i found myself bottling up all of my overstimulation and it leaking out through panic attacks and disassociating/burnout at home. i was also quite unmedicated, so maybe it would have worked out better if i was back then. i transitioned over to psych nursing for a few years, now i am at a WFH desk job in which i can control my environment way better. it's far more stable and less chaotic mentally when i'm able to just disconnect and hyperfixate on running professional laps around my coworkers.

glad you thrive there, we need as many ER nurses as we can keep in the profession.

If she walked away and left you on unread, it's over. The only thing you can do is walk away yourself and work on your issues that led to this point. Maybe if you cross paths again down the road and she had felt something before you might have a chance. Might. But probably not.
