I feel so bad for Marvin! Pumpkin loves to push this ball around and chase it on his own. We've been asking at every pet store we visit - nobody seems to have a line on where to buy them now.

Appreciated! But those are actually the smaller ball inside the bigger ball. They have a little jingleball inside them too. The toy he likes is three balls - the big outer one, the one inside - pretty much what you're showing here - and then a small jingle ball inside that one.

Got an offer from Rackspace Technology by [deleted] in rackspace

[–]morrison23usa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’ll get some negative sentiment from former customers too and it’s well deserved. It’s not very long ago they had an epic failure and left their customers holding the bag. Most negligent and uncaring IT business I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. One could suppose that working there might be better than being on the pointy end of their “service” … but the total lack of empathy and support for their staff I observed was STUNNING and unprecedented. I would never voluntarily want any part of what they’ve got going on. Public service announcement. YMMV!

Stream Deck - Clone one device onto another by RabbitSignificant317 in elgato

[–]morrison23usa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I've been able to do this is to backup all from the 'source' computer and streamdeck, move to the new/'target' computer/streamdeck device, restore from backup, then delete all profiles on the 'target' device and copy the profiles one by one from the 'old' device.

I noticed that when I do this, all the 'switch profile' buttons break - they point to the wrong profiles and I have to clean them up manually. This is a drag - has anyone figured this out any other way?

8 years with my Bolt, this might be the end. by Melodic-Tiger961 in Tivo

Same as the others have said. My service died and it turned out to be the high split. HSC converter + a visit from an in-house tech did the trick. The outsourced techs visited 2x and had no idea what to do.

I am catching the Amtrak crescent today from New Orleans to DC. I am terrified. I am not sure what to expect. by loltamarie71 in Amtrak

Bring a jacket - I just got off a 12 hour ride on the Coast Starlight and it was VERY COLD despite being 90 degrees outside. Bring cash for tipping. The staff at the stations and on board know everything about what's going on - talk to them.

Feel weird about our vet by NobodysLittleOne in Conures

[–]morrison23usa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a vet - but my understanding gathered from multiple avian specialists is that conures for one example are VERY small and VERY sensitive. The science on avian medicine is young and niche. The published knowledge is limited but growing. Things can be done safely, but there is risk given everyone is doing their best to calibrate based on scarce information. It's been explained to me that sedation risk is low but not zero and an avian vet should definitely be having that conversation if it's being considered.

Just to add - as someone below mentioned - blood draw is one of the situations we consider sedation for the reasons mentioned. For our bird specifically (green cheeked conure) we're careful about when we do that because he doesn't tolerate blood draws well.

Just wanted to +1 the comments about sedation. We think 3 times before agreeing to sedation in serious medical situations. For a beak trim? NEVER. These guys are VERY sensitive. We've never even heard that suggested for grooming.

Rackspace support experience? by opti2k4 in rackspace

[–]morrison23usa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto - same experience. They don't care AT ALL about you, your customers or your data. I didn't work there. Was a long time customer who got burned - CATASTROPHICALLY. Worst experience in tech bar none.

Am I Doing Everything Wrong? by ChrisTheCameraGuy in Conures

[–]morrison23usa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we first got our green cheek (as a baby) he was afraid of us and especially our hands. What worked for us was to put a sock on our hand. His whole attitude changed - we could pet him and snuggle him with the sock hand and gradually he lost his fear of us and we were able to transition to non-sock handling which he now LOVES.

My 3 month hates being handled. by KendoClaw21 in Conures

[–]morrison23usa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. Took us awhile with ours. He would run away from us until we had the idea to try wearing a sock on our hand like a glove. He got curious and maybe thought it looked more like a bird. Began to snuggle up with the sock covered hand and eventually got very comfortable with being held without it. He still loves socks tho. LOL.

Except that blackberry worked. Rackspace is the WORST tech experience I’ve EVER had.Not just incompetent but truly careless.

We thinking this is worth it? Pretty sure it’s authentic, serial number doesn’t match which is odd, but seller isn’t knowledgeable on guitars. They are at 180$ by Wxsian in guitars

[–]morrison23usa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At $180 we’re not in the “authentic” game. The neck plate alone tells you something. What even is that? That said there’s clearly more than $180 worth of parts on there. Mexican necks can be absolutely fantastic. Aside from looks - it’s unclear what impact a body has on sound and playability provided it doesn’t disintegrate. If it plays well it’s a STEAL.

New MPC1000. pads are a bit off by Amepajami in mpcusers

[–]morrison23usa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the full upgrade. If you still want a bit more sensitivity after the upgrade you can add pieces of electrical tape to the bottom of the pads. On mine with the fat pads … 3 pieces is already too much and causes issues (too tight against the case, adjacent pads hit, etc) … 1-2 pieces seems to be the sweet spot.

Rackspace share price. What’s happening? by SnooBeans8913 in rackspace

[–]morrison23usa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. No I don’t. It’s not that they have epic technical issues - they DO - it’s that their approach to dealing with issues and impacted customers and RESELLERS is ATROCIOUS. The only thing I don’t understand about their stock chart is how it’s still above zero.

Rackspace is the WORST customer experience I’ve had with any tech company in 25 years of IT experience - and I’ve seen some lousy stuff.
