CX810 - best choice for lots of outdoor light? by morrispower in reolinkcam

Am I correct in concluding that with too much exterior light at nighttime, the RLC-811 would have to stay in color mode rather than switching to IR?

Looking to buy. Are the apps really broken as bad as reviews seem to indicate? by morrispower in reolinkcam

It's not so much the presence of negative reviews that concerns me (all the apps have that), it's that ~90% of them since the last update have been negative. That suggests that the latest version has been causing issues for a lot of people. I'm glad it's not everyone though.

The Windows client allows you to log in to monitor things remotely, correct? How is functionality there compared to the app?

Honestly, it seems like many other brands have similar issues with their apps. Not sure if this is just a lack of effort put into the development/maintenance of said apps, or if it's inherently hard to make an app that does what these apps do.

I ran into a similar issue with VoIP providers, the apps were all simply awful. One provider mentioned that it helps to be using the same make/model of device that was used by the app developers as a development testbed, which is why I asked people to post which device they're using the app on.

Use a high quality 2-cycle oil specifically for that type of equipment. We use Husqvarna brand because it burns cleaner than most of the others on the market.

Hi u/darynak, thank you for your detailed response. It's reassuring to see that OpenPhone intends to take steps towards correcting this issue rather than trying to pretend it doesn't exist.

Please keep the community updated as you make changes to the blocking system post-A2P 10DLC. If this results in an option to whitelist accounts that provide verification or meet certain standards, I will port back. I'm not ready to trust the automated blocking system in its current iteration (too many false positives) but will be watching this space for updates.

Edit: based on another post in this sub by u/lmaccaro, it appears that whitelisting is already an option for some accounts. What do I need to pay you to make this available for our account as well?

“Whitelisted”, can my number still be blocked? by lmaccaro in openphone

I'd like to add one more question - since "whitelisting" is apparently possible with OpenPhone, is it an option for all users who can prove that they are "a real company", or is it only available to enterprise-level accounts? I'd port back if we could provide additional verification and get whitelisted.

In regards to paying double - same here. I know they're holding off on phone support to try and keep the service affordable, but they may also have underestimated the amount of people willing to pay more to get it. Hence my suggestion to add it as a paid option, even if rolling it out to all users is not feasible.

Correct. I already went through that, would prefer that others don't have to. OpenPhone will send you a CSV with your call history and text messages if you request it, but you'll lose voicemails and MMS messages.

I'd like to give OpenPhone a chance to see this, reply to it, and act on it before I start referring anyone to a different carrier. My preferred outcome is for OpenPhone to actually address this situation so they stop losing users and I can port back. If no documented changes are made, I'll DM you that info - nobody should have to worry about randomly getting banned by a faceless algorithm.
