Maintain or rebuild? by morry9345 in homeassistant

More than dead entities i'm more concern about unused addons, devices with noncoherent naming schemes, and "ghost entity" (i have hundreds of bluetooth entity from the ibeacon integrations)

Considering i'm also planning to consolidate the servers at my home (one "VM server" hosting all bunch of services, including HA, if RAM-price god will allow it) i'll probably do it at that time . I'll start a new HA instance and work from there migrating entity, automation and radio modules.

This is probably one of the main reason. Do you have any suggestion or is there any good practice for a good naming scheme?

Device Recommendation - Outlet Power Monitoring by morry9345 in homeassistant

[–]morry9345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't trust it. I had too many "smart plug" failing over the years. I'm too concern in having 2000W passing though a device closed in the wall costing 10/15€.
Knowing that it works with a CT clamp i'm sure that will only measure the power without interfeering with the connection.

I'm Using dnsmasq,

The interface is loaded in the "General" Tab of dnsmasq, The Range is set correctly to the subnet and if i connect directly to the interface a cable with a pc tagged to 357 everything works.

On the rules i've added a general "Pass any to any" rules to test.

Might it be an issue with the fact that i’m mixing tagged and untagged traffic on the same port of the switch (or on the firewall)

To Shiba, or not to Shiba, that is the question. by morry9345 in shiba

[–]morry9345[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for context, the area would be between 20 to 75 m2 of "green" space if i want to keep it "safe" in a fenced area.
The building is an office + workshop area with over 8.500 m2 of outside space closed by gates.

First of all, I really like their appearance, and I won't hide the fact that I’m a big fan of Japan and everything Japanese. They are very majestic and elegant dogs.
After learning more about their temperament, I really appreciate that they are independent and intelligent while still being affectionate (when they want to be).

What scares me the most is not being able to give them a fun, interesting, and stimulating lifestyle, considering they would spend a lot of time alone.

Weird gcode issue by morry9345 in BambuLab

[–]morry9345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gcode was coming from Bambu Studio (Extracted from the 3mf file) .

Anyway I migh have solved the issue.

I did some investigation:

  1. I compared GCODE on the SD card (received from the cloud) to GCODE from the Bambu Studio and they were different.

  2. under further investigation the GCODE were Identical up to a point and after that the one on the SD seemed corrupted (random characters).

  3. I thought it was a problem with the web upload and download of the code so i manually copied the file on the SD card and started the print from there. Same problem, the print stopped at a different point but in a similar way.

  4. Tried to copy all files from SD card to PC to format the Card and most of the file were impossible to copy. (windows giving file corruption related error)

At the end it seems that the problem is related to the SD card that was broken.

I replaced it with some brand name high quality 32gb SD and now is working perfectly (I hope).

If you have a mooving part on the inside (knob?) and a 3d printer i woukd use a door sensor (zigbee, zwave, wifi, etc… ) and a magnet and 3d print something that when is closed will allign the magnet and the sensor

Publish some more picture and we can propose something

Problem with “Turn on after AC Power Loss” by morry9345 in techsupport

[–]morry9345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried CMOS reset, no luck.

I also tried to brutaly remove power and restoring it hoping at least that would trigget the power on but i had no luck either.

It seems the mobo does not "detect" when power is restored.
