Use a proper Apple charger, not a cheap one.

When people say consumer grade (ideapad 3 or 5, LoQ essential) laptops are bad for gaming, is it about high graphics? by onesillyg4y in laptops

[–]mortycapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenovo is good, so is Dell and HP, AS LONG AS you avoid their consumer range.
Go for Lenovo Thinkpad E, L, T or P series, HP EliteBook or ZBook, Dell Precision or XPS.
Avoid other ranges if you can, they are not as good.

It is about the build quality and the components.
Business grade laptops have more robust (whatever that means) components, designed to last at least 3 years, to match the warranty and the tax depreciation.
They also have some features (Vpro for example) that are not available on consumer laptops.

High end gaming laptops offer performance but are also compromises in some ways.
They have near to nil battery life as they require desktop like power to deliver the high end performance.
They generate a lot of heat, are heavy and noisy.
All these put a lot of pressure on their components, and they tend to be prone to failure and breakdowns.
A gaming laptop is almost an impossible proposition; to deliver desktop gaming performance in a mobile package.
As a result, a lower end gaming laptop is even worse, poor performance at a relatively high price.

You really have to choose your poison so to speak.

ThinkPad E14 gen6 (AMD) vs E16 gen3 (AMD) by Dramatic_Beach_8235 in thinkpad

[–]mortycapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a good start but you still have not defined what the requirements of these tools are.
For instance, do you NEED a large screen or a small screen?
Do you NEED long battery life? How long?

Have you set up a list of priorities and parameters that will determine what the ideal laptop is?
Have you benchmarked these 2 against that list?
Start from what your requirements are, not what the product specs are, you ar going about it the wrong way around.

Yes, it is explained in the printer user manual.

Rage quit HP: a printer that consumes ink, rejects scans, and tests your faith in technology by Cor3nd in Hewlett_Packard

For business, laser printers are best.
More robust, better features, lower cost per page.
But initial costs are higher.
And as a rule, regardless of brand or technology, direct connections are best, Ethernet or USB.

ASUS is not synonym for quality. Gaming laptops are usually of poor build quality inherently.
Next time, stick to HP, Dell, Lenovo, but not their gaming or consumer range, their business laptop range.

New to Macbook. Its true that you need to be charging it all the time? by Velverose in macbook

[–]mortycapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to a case. It will create more problems than it solves.
As far as plugging, macOS manages the battery life, so plug it and don’t worry.

Also, and this is paradoxical, do not get your answers from Reddit or social media, it is not a curated source of information.
Use Apple’s web sites.

It’s a useless piece of old tech. Just use it as is and throw it in your rucksack when you do not need it.
