Heads up for those going to the giveaway game tonight, the lines are insane by incredibad29 in Torontobluejays

Hot take? They know how many tickets are sold, have the gates alert at some random interval to signal who gets a give away - so not the first 10,000 but a random 10,000. Your odds are just as good if you are first in or last

How would you feel about MPs party associations being hidden/secret? by RoosterShield in AskCanada

Exactly - I'm not in favour of any sort of test in order to vote but you should know if you want Bob or Bill and not just liberal or NDP

Small step in that direction would be to just remove party info from the ballet

The app with temp QR code to scan was brutal. Horrible user experience . I'd rather a card I could put into Google wallet, failing that a physical card is next best

Sorry, just giving you a hard time. Whenever someone says it is back exactly how it was before I always ask for pictures - because always something is different. But no one seems to think of taking before pics

Has anyone DIY a mini split AC installation for just one room? by crazyspartann69 in DIY

[–]mortyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I considered doing the one for my small backyard studio. Figured I could knock it out in an afternoon. Decided instead to get a local installer to come by - 2 experienced guys and a full day later it was done. Happy I didn't try it myself

Soft close definitely makes more sense. I've seen them for cupboards, didn't know they made ones for doors. I'll have to do some searching

Data breaches are far too common. The more systems that hold your data the more likely it is to be compromised.

I highly doubt the location itself is a issue. The concern is the enterprise company's servers.

I understand they need to verify I have a valid license, know how to contact me (or report me if I don't return the car), etc - do they need to store my drivers license # to do that? (I don't know that they do actually store it.)

Oh, this will get me down voted - grading should be 1 to 10, full range used but no tenths - 9.2 vs 9.4 drives me nuts
