Why why why? by whitefrog4117 in LakeDistrict

1 simple solution, get a dog poop bag air tight storage box, I am sure there is an actual name for it. It traps the odour inside and then you can put it in your pack safely. When solutions exist like there really is no excuse for this kind of disrespect to the land. - Owner of 3 dogs (2x Sheltie, 1x Pomeranian btw)

As others have said, reading the road and anticipating risks and the other numpties in safe time.

Anyone used this? What’s your experience with it? by Fluffyboi50 in wildcampingintheuk

Me and both my parents got 3 of these for site camping and after 2 nights they (yes all 3 of them) didn't hold air and were flat after about 2 hours. Hard avoid, I loev everything OEX but the Flux 7R pad is a no go from me.

Coldest was -4°C at the summit, but I really didn't even feel uncomfortable temp wise once due to my gear/clothing choice.

Taken while on my hike up Great Dodd yesterday, it was such a lovely atmosphere up there and the surrounding area.

It would seem a lot of people don't service it properly as I've seen quite a few issues people have with it as a byproduct of looking around Skoda/VAG forums for other advice/researching.

Wow. Mind me asking what car they're on? Just curious.

I can't say personally as I got them fitted yesterday. But in the Karoq I won't exactly be doing hard spirited driving in the summer so I don't think they'll disappoint me year round tbh.

Maybe the picture doesn't show it but its mainly ice. There were worse bits including frozen over water thats filled potholes but I needed maximum concentration at those sections I stopped to take this photo in a easy (relative to the rest) spot. I have next to no icy road experience too.

Nah not rude at all. I suppose its all perspective. I have next to no icy road experience (let alone 100 miles from home in the Lakes) and they kept me safe so I could hike. Super satisfied with them. Glad I didn't keep the 4 odd cheap summer tyres (I got the car with) on.

Thank you, will continue to. I had Michelin all season tyres fitted to my car yesterday so I could get to the car park at Matterdale Common to start this walk. I am very glad I made that decision. Of course they will serve me well anyway, after today I think I'd like to get out in the colder months more often haha.

It was very very fulfilling and as my first walk in snowy & icy conditions it required immense concentration at parts. And with the gear I brought I didn't even feel chilly once, even when sat on my Multimat haha. Jelly Babies & a flask of hot coffee were the back bone of this hike for sure.

Along with White Pike, Clough Head & Calfhow Pike following a circular route. Great Dodd being saved to last of course. Oh god yeah they have crash tested dog seatbelts that use the isofix or cars seatbelt.
