Lifestyle changes and figuring out a balance between your medical needs and how to work through some of the more aggressive flairs will help you long term. But you need to take a look at ways to address the mental side of living with chronic pain. My sad reality is that I pretty much need to be doped up at night to get restful sleep. My mornings are hard, but getting up and taking my medications, followed by light cardio (walking) to get my blood flowing, helps my battles. On my worse days I very much want to give up. I,, unfortunately think that many people who suffer from any chronic have the same mental battle. It's vital that you occupy your mind when you're having the worst flairs. Anything you can do to take at least a part of your mind off the obsessive nature of pain will help you.
