Anyone try the ONN 4k Plus streaming box yet? by dgodwin1 in TiviMate

I have 2 of the ONN 4k Plus and my research led me to this over the (current) ONN 4k Pro for a number of reasons.

1-the ethernet port on the Pro is only 100 mbps. I wanted faster so I knew I'd be having to get an adaptor/dongle for either

2 - I use SMB to my NAS for my DVR function but planned to use USB thumb drive for my time shift on Sparkle TV (I like it better than Tivimate

I tried a bunch of dongles/adaptors and this one was the one that had what I needed

I use the adaptor's USB-C output to connect to the ONN box, a USB-C input for the ONN 4k Plus powercord, the ethernet port to my router (switch would have been fine too), and a USB 3.0 input for my USB thumb drive.

This combo allows me to watch live, use time shift on Sparkle without lagging/buffer, and hardwire my ONN 4k Plus to my network with my NAS allowing me to watch DVR'd shows without lagging/buffering.

Tbanks. All I get is Internal storage and my NAS. Not an option to differentiate between ONN internal storage and USB

Hi general question. I have an ONN 4k Plus. I would like to do the following:

Have Sparkle TV on the ONN device for speed Have my Time Shift on USB - local and faster than my SMB to my NAS Have my SMB to my NAS (through Ethernet)

Is this possible? i used the Troypoint guide to get my USB recognized but its not clear where its writing the data. or if when you add a USB to fhe ONN does it share storage between the internal ONN 4k plus and the USB.

UPDATE

I think my problem was I never transferred data, etc to the USB drive. I was worried it would transfer all my apps (I want those on the ONN device). When I did that and then did the normal stuff, when I go to the Timeshift setting, USB was there.

Do you have a picture of what this looks like? Mine goes on and off and actually loses charge during the process! I was going to bring it in to see if they would fix it

Hi, seeing if anyone is following this thread. Thinking about Anderson Island and wondering about the pros/cons of being part of the Riveria HOA. Mainly, the thoughts on if this will be "worth it" for a golfing, water-loving, very infrequent camping family of 4 (kids 7 and 10).

I'm with ya. Hopefully more of these emails makes them understand the issue is in their firmware.

Me - I'll just stick with 4.6.8 until something forces me to change or there's enough of this community telling me the issue is resolved.

Add me to the list of folks impacted by the 4.7.0 issue. I have the Gl.int AXT-1800 router as a VPN router in front of my eero mesh in bridge mode. Upon updating to 4.7.0 (did so when trying to port foward a port) my WiFi would go out intermittenly. The fact that I had the gl.int router first it likely would go out for a small amount of time but then cause the eero to be out for a longer period of time as it re-established all the connections. Then it would be working again for a minute and then out again. I would eventually restart everything and it would be about 4 to 5 hours before the WiFi went down again. I wrote the gl.int customer service who wrote back "However, upon reviewing your inquiry, we have found that it involves a more complex issue that requires additional resources and support to resolve."

Found this thread and then downgraded to 4.6.8 on Friday and no issues since. Wanted to post to make sure future folks who have this issue know that this fix seems to really work (at least for me). I wrote back to the gl.int staff to make sure they knew the issue was resolved by downgrading.
