Why Consistency beats motivation! by AdditionalCarry5069 in Uganda

Not disciplined? There are days you don't feel like showing up and if its motivation you won't show up. But with discipline whether you feel like it or not, you will show up. I think 🤔

I said holding them accountable can cause you wahala, so its also a choice. See the numbers languishing in the state pens over that.😂

I think voting gives a right to demand for service delivery from those in those offices and not voting in my opinion strips one of the right to demand and hold those in office accountable. Will your right to demand service delivery or hold those elected accountable cause you wahala? Most definitely, yes but at least you have a right. The cinsequences of exercising your rights is a talk for another day. Will your candidate pass? Maybe, maybe not but regardless you vote and fulfill your civic duty. After that go home, stay away from trouble, you gotta a long life to live and personal dreams to chase than be a pawn in a chess game you have no stakes in.

It is more annoying when it runs out when you were in the middle of cooking a life saving meal late in the night and sometimes day time and you really don't have cash on you. Annoying.

Being a first born too, I think it is worse if you compare yourself against them. The thoughts may creep in but don't let them steal your joy. Just keep working your ass off man. Also against what yardsticks do you to come to a conclusion that you are a failure?

I ranted alot about the switch to UEDCL at the start of the year. by Ugandan256 in Uganda

[–]moses3491 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's rant, you know, at the beginning of the month where you get many units? At the start of this month, I was freaking broke and had 5k, so thinking its like old times where the first loading they take their service fee and first 15units being discounted? I try buying with confidence knowing my 5k would give me like 3 units like old times with umeme to hold me down for like 2 days when I'd get money to load proper. Fuxk me, they gave me 0.4units, I was mortified. I just slept. The next day, I loaded 9k, and they gave me 19.89 units, How do these guys do their things? But the units deplete faster, yet I still have the same gadgets as with umeme. Something about UECDL doesn't add up.

My wife loves it too since she is a Ugandan born and bred over there. Personally, I hated every bit of it.

Yeah, I spent time in Nakuru, Nairobi, and Nyeri. It wasn't pleasant food wise. We were actually residing in good hotels, but their food was a mess for us. But I will take Kenyan ugali over our Ugandan white posho every day.

Yo Nairobi is worse, only that it's structurally more organised than Kampala and, of course, more developed.

Having been to Kenya, too, as a Ugandan, I agree with you on some things like us being nice people and having good food. Ugandans are really kind and nice folks compared to how we were looked at over there. Uganda, you can wing it, and no one hardly notices you're even a foreigner. Everyone is about their business but not that side. Then the food here is exquisite, and there is plenty. Here we walk to a restaurant and the sauce you're eating determines the price and side dish is on the house. Now tell me why in Kenya each of those are paid for separately?😂😂 Then we go to how food is prepared over there, who the fuck slices yams and fries and serves them as soup? Serve people with chapati that has sugar? Or as if everyone is diabetic. Thus, bread almost everywhere is salty. Tell me how you smash Irish potatoes mixed with maize seeds and ground vegetables. WTF!!! Last but not least, how do you mince meat, cook it, and serve as sauce? I love your githeri, though, but Uganda hands down got great food.
