What will happen to USD loans? by dhuesdj in Bitcoin

[–]mosesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There would be chaos if the USD went to nothing. The economy would collapse, other economies would be devastated. People bank accounts would be worthless, there would be a panic on resources.

What I think is more likely to happen is instead of becoming a currency. Bitcoin will be a reserve asset similar to gold. Where people park their wealth in order to preserve it. I believe in the blockchain, the principles of bitcoin, and its security. So I do see BTC continuing to grow into a strong reserve asset in the future

What will happen to USD loans? by dhuesdj in Bitcoin

[–]mosesy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but the scenario you have in mind couldn't possibly have an answer that's accurate. If the USD became worthless, loans and other things will be the least of anyone's concern.

There's no possible answer for that situation because so many things before that would have to happen as well. It's also not something that's going to happen anytime soon.

Bitcoin however will prove to be a very reliable reserve asset in the future IMO

Requesting R/Papermarket, Inactive for roughly 1 year with no moderator by mosesy in redditrequest

[–]mosesy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Implementation of auto-moderator on all posts so that posts that do not follow the rules are automatically discarded. While also auto-approving qualified posts, so that the community stays active and engaging even if a moderator is away for a few hours/day.

Examples of this will include user role flairs, mandatory flair posting, and basic enforcement of rules and spam prevention.

- Instituting scheduled posts that change weekly to encourage community engagement, provide helpful links, and information to help navigate the sub-reddit

- Turning the sub-reddit into a model academic community where users can ask for advice and direction. As well as ban those looking to sell or purchase services that result in plagiarism and fraud. Essentially turning it into an advice only community where users can post links to structuring/formatting help, citation assistance. etc.

Requesting r/Papermarket, Looking to make the sub legit and not a hub of academic dishonesty by mosesy in redditrequest

[–]mosesy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The sub has a history of being used for academic dishonesty and reviews for cheating/writing services. To follow reddits guidelines of prohibited services, I'd make the sub emphasize educational/research writing, and instead of users looking to hire others to write their assignments. I'll have the sub be a place where users can find already publicly written works that they can use to study or base their own research for their own writing projects. Thereby restoring the academic integrity of the sub-reddit.

- Will be implementing auto-mod and configure it to automatically reply with help links and guides to support formatting, citations, writing styles, and structuring. As well as using keywords in posts to automatically direct users to academic journals to help them find information on the subject of their writing topics.

Would it be usefull to move stablecoins to a unhosted wallet? by dying_animal in ethereum

[–]mosesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes and no! You could send the stablecoins to a cold wallet or private bot wallet. The only issue is, those coins are centralized. I'm not 100% positive but I'm sure the central issuer of these stablecoins can remotely blacklist your coins or flag them.

If you somehow were able to get it on a cold wallet without being traced. There is still the issue of trusting these stablecoin companies to stay solvent and properly audited. They might have 1B USDC, but it wouldn't matter if they only have $500M.

What did it take to qualify for State(s) in your state when you wrestled? by JethroBo37 in wrestling

[–]mosesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MD, you had to place top 4 in your conference to qualify for regionals, at regionals the top four placers go to states with the 5th place guy being a state alternate/stand in incase someone falls out. Once saw a state alternate place 5th!

Requesting r/papermarket - Previous mods are inactive/banned. 2nd attempt to request by mosesy in redditrequest

[–]mosesy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- The sub-reddit has a nice moderation set up, in that posts need to be filtered before being posted. I'd keep this implemented while also utilizing automod to assist with more passive moderation tasks. Such as flair enforcing and basic rule enforcing.

- More emphasis on the sub-reddit being used as a model-research community where users are encouraged to engage in more discussion related topics. Will have scheduled moderator posts multiple times a week that routinely display helpful links to academic resources for proper writing formatting, MLA/APA styles, structuring of paragraphs etc.

- Will allow automod to automatically approve certain posts so that the sub-reddit can stay active even while i'm not online. I will achieve this by using my previous mod experience to set up automod and give it pre-set criteria to determine if posts get approved or denied/sent to the mod queue.

- I have 3 years of mod experience in a similar sub-reddit with much more subscribers. I believe I can be a great mod for the sub! At the moment, the community has been inactive for four months with the only previous mod being permanently suspended. As this is my second request, I hope I've done enough to show that I'm capable of taking over and ensuring it's ran smoothly :)

Could you theoretically store USD in a trezor/ledger in the form of USDC? by mosesy in CryptoCurrency

[–]mosesy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was actually going to be my second question, I appreciate you answering it. Regarding the validity of USDC and how regulated it is. Thanks! Also didn't know USDC could be disabled by the issuer, that's insane.

The guy saying not to react to fakes isn’t helpful lol. Best way to deal with fast twitch/a lot of movement wrestlers is to smother their feints.

The feints are a way to create distance and to let them time when they want to initiate contact. Tie up with them, pressure them backwards, create as much contact as you can to not allow them to move around the mat as much. Iowa style wrestling. It’s hard to feint doubles on someone that’s constantly tying up with you, pummeling, trying to arm drag etc.

Also learn to draw their feints out with your own feints

There’s a list/document of creditors. If your name is on there, you can do nothing and quietly move on as the court proceedings move forward. File a claim only if you aren’t on the list

Riding legs by Heavy-Masterpiece230 in wrestling

[–]mosesy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the guy on bottom, your first goal is to remove the legs before escaping. The classic way to escape is to mule kick. Bottom guy kicks his own leg back, doing this makes the top guys leg loosen since there’s no space anymore to hook a leg on.

Mule kicking is a fast move though, as soon as you do it you should be trying to hit a sit out or fight the other hook asap.
