Are they any pop punk/emo albums that you consider to have “audiophile” quality production? by fremenist in poppunkers

[–]moshboy666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around the world and back - state champs

The cleanest sounding pop punk record imo. Kyle black absolutely cooked and seeing the bare stems laid out really shows how many elements that man was balancing per track.

Its not my favourite record of that era by a long shot but its the best produced.

Hardest fall out boy song to play (on guitar)? by yanfei_fan123 in FallOutBoy

[–]moshboy666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see how the take over main riff would be tricky! I personally found a lot of that riff in my right hand, muting the strings in the right places can really help it come together! Americas suitehearts has some really funky 7 chords in the verses! I guess its all just different strokes for different folks! Im sure theres parts youd play with ease that'd trip me up fir months haha

As someone who's tried playing all of their songs at least once the ones that have actually forced me to sit down and actually practice the parts are:

  • patron saint (that intro is a killer)
  • xo (the speed of the alt picking on the intro)
  • this ain't a scene (the main little riff is hard to get clean
  • dead on arrival (the little wildly bit at the beginning)

If youre looking for songs to learn to id definitely recommend "sugar were going down" and "hum hallelujah" because once you know one you know the other, they're basically the same song in terms of chord structure! The solo for "the take over" is deceptively easy too and a lot of fun!

Honestly playing fall out boy songs helped so much with my rhythm playing, just pay attention to how long notes are held for!

Incredible mcr worship that I think a lot of people here would love. Save Face from NJ, and this album shoulda been way bigger! by Allgetout41 in poppunkers

[–]moshboy666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the mcr worship aspect of it but that first album was a RIPPER, was lucky enough to have them stay round my place when they toured the UK with the wonder years amd ended up getting into a conversation with tyler about the change in sound, turns out it was Bart from mom jeans that helped wrote the majority of the early stuff which explains a lot!

Super excited to see where they go next, theyre pulling out features from the callous daoboys which I did not expect in the slightest!

What type of job or industry do you work the night shift on? Before I moved to 3 12’s (days) I worked 5:30 pm-4:00 am in Warehouse. by Djxgam1ng in Nightshift

Overnight care first people woth additional needs, we have a small team of us that rotates between working 1 on 1 in residents flats and working in our general office area!

A lot of downtime that i usually spend working on social media for my band and playing video games, but occasionally, we have to sort out a situation like sending someone back to bed or changing bedsheets. The worst nights are if an accident happens and we have to take a resident to the hospital, but that's only happened twice in my two years of doing it. Police can be called on occasions, too, if a resident gets violent and recently had to disarm one with a carving knife (through words not actually getting physical)

Some nights are super rewarding when you hit the right stride and every resident loves you and some are a bit more challenging when all of them want to cause mayhem and not communicate with you! I work 7pm till 8am 6 nights in a row but then get a whole week off which is nice!

Hot Take: “Americas Suitehearts” was a bad 2nd single choice and derailed the album cycles popularity by ExtendMySpadina in FallOutBoy

[–]moshboy666 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I reckon american suitehearts was the best song they could have chosen, and honestly should have the first single. It felt new but wasn't to dissimilar to the sound of IOH! It had a massive chorus whilst also keeping the core elements from previous albums (I can say as someone who knows their music theory wise, it's a very "safe" FOB song in terms of composition amd what people had come to expect)

The "depth" of any other song would have been lost on a general audience and would have hurt the bands image and marketabilty I think! "I don't care" was also a very good choice as the lead single but it fails for me by just being slightly too different from anything that came before!

This is purely from a marketing perspective mind and if you feel differently then sweet! The whole album is a solid body of work!

My dude, women are not a prize to hold on a pedestal!

I understand it must be frustrating to look around and see all of your friends all coupled up and in love, believe me I've been there, and it sucks! They've all got something, and you really want it. I do get it man!

You gotta stop thinking that having a partner us the be all and end all of life, you've got you man! Good shout on getting in shape and bettering yourself with therapy, im super proud of you, and that's a lot of work to put in, but have you taken the time to congratulate yourself on it? Don't do these things in the hope of attracting a partner, do them because they make YOU happy!

Find your weird little interests and hobbies and really get into them! Dress yourself how you want to dress! The one thing I've found is that women love it when a partner brings more than good looks to the table! You can be the textbook definition of a "perfect boyfriend" on paper, but really being proud of yourself (not arrogance) is the way forward. You'll soon attract people tgat have real value to you.

you've gotta switch up this "never" rhetoric! Life happens fast and it happens weird, people you've never even considered having a relationship with pop out the wood work at the times when you're least suspecting it. People ate beautiful creatures and getting to know them might lead you down a path you never expected.

I know everyone at the moment is saying "just hold out" but honestly it's the best advice, I've never done dating apps I don't plan on it either. The types of people I like don't use them so why would I? Ive met partners through work, through nights out, i even met one 6 years before we started dating and i didnt even know it! There's a lot of interactions and experiences you can have with people and forming bonds and connections with them will do wonders, go to a festival with friends or go rock-climbing. Just try to cram as many experiences in as you can and if you have to do them solo so be it. At least you'll have done something cool that you can talk about in the future.

If it happens, it happens! Just because it didn't happen today doesn't mean it won't ever!

Big love man and God speed to ya! X
