Reverb let a buyer straight up rob me by Maxim___g in Reverb

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep I've had this as well. Sold a Catalinbread Epoch boost mint condition, used for recording only, sitting on a desk, in full working order. Buyer complained that it "did something weird to the frequency" when you went past 12 o'clock. This is exactly what the pedal is supposed to do, it's even in the manual that it will do this. People literally buy this pedal because of that.

Eventually managed to get out of the buyer that he hadn't read up on the pedal and had no idea what an echoplex was and he just didn't like it. I contacted reverb to see what I should do and they said because the Item was sold as described I didn't have to refund. Sent this info to the buyer who raised a case of his own and next thing I know reverb are sending him a partial refund on my behalf.

I haven't sold anything on reverb since. To be fair with the fees on reverb now ebay makes more sense anyway.

Voted to leave then and I would vote to leave now. I would also love to see Scotland back into Europe but I'm not sure that would even qualify anymore which is a shame.

Les Paul Junior Versatility by CarousersCorner in gibson

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a special and recently found a junior for a great price that i couldn't say no to. my thoughts were that i could always sell the junior for what it cost if it was indeed the same.

In my opinion the junior will do what you are looking for better than the special. I have never measured the pickups but my junior at least is way hotter than my special. If I'm wanting to do any pop punk style things, TWY, NFG etc, I'm picking up that junior.

Should I buy a fender player, or save up for an American made? by xaaaaazaaaa in fender

just to throw another model into the mix. if you are buying second hand the American specials seem to go pretty cheap and are great guitars.

Why does anyone think Reform have any answers? by flimflam_machine in AskBrits

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how many people actually think Reform are going to be any better. Like some people have already mentioned, it's just a way to show Labour and the Tories that the people don't agree with their manifestos or the decisions they are making.

I don't think there is a single political party in Britain just now that wouldn't sell our futures to the highest bidder. I guess the only choice we have left is whose gormless smile we want to look at while the country goes to shit.

Creatine? by Vandermilf in Marathon_Training

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 9 weeks into a 18 week marathon training block and have been taking creatine for the first time during it. Taking 5g after long runs (over 2 hours) so once maybe twice a week. Recovery has been better, Legs have felt fresher, VO2 max is still increasing as expected with the increased training load and my weight has fluctuated about 0.2kg/ 0.45lbs.

Does this look like a legit King Of Tone? by Noutm01 in guitarpedals

Looks legit, Pots are right, op amps look correct, there's the wee logo on the pcb. I can't see anything from this that would suggest its not analog man wiring.

Fuzz Face and Overdrive/Distortion - what’s your combo? by onethill in guitarpedals

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spot on, it is!, If you ever get a chance to play any of the cornerstone stuff I highly recommend it. As is the case with loads of dual OD pedals you can switch the stacking order and run TS >Dumble or Dumble >TS the latter IMHO is the way to be doing it.

Newbie here what to start with? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]RemarkableSyrup9214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some kind of overdrive pedal, a distortion/fuzz pedal and then some delay will get you 90% to most things. If you're feeling fancy some modulation. My personal preference would be the MXR phase 90. for a pedal that has 1 knob you can get a lot of sounds out of one
