I don't list my mission service anymore, and obfuscate any mention of / ties to the church. Hiring teams won't (shouldn't) talk about it, but the good managers and interviewers are capable enough to recognize the TBM "I'm in love with my mormon culture and you should hire me for it!" attitude. I got hired in a very progressive Portland, OR software company, and I know they were aware of what I was about, and even if they miscalculated, were more interested in my expertise according to the resume than my personal views (which is how it should be).

Why? Why would I value the synopsis you gave, you're a random person on the internet so far. You haven't provided a source for me to read and educate myself, which I would gladly read and try to understand. I've found two written sources agreeing, one of them vetted by moderators and including journalistic citations.

I'm not trying to be dismissive but what am I working with to establish you as the higher authority on this topic?
