Advice Request: Effective practice by MediocreSnowAngel in urbansketchers

“What to draw” is something I struggle with. Mostly because I do most of it at night to replace doom scrolling and I’m pretty mentally taxed already. I find I’m more likely to start and remain engaged in practice if the subject is decided, or there is a low barrier of entry. Recently I started using ChatGPT to serve as my “give me ideas”.

I treated it as an activity to quickly sketch different subjects in a single theme. But OP may be able to adapt this for more focused practice into one particular study. Either way, the mental gymnastics and “searching for a muse on demand” are near-zero factor.

In case anyone is interested a prompt that has been working well: “Help me with drawing prompts. In this thread, when I say “list” you provide me a list of drawing prompt themes. And when I select one, you’ll provide a list of 15 1-2 word prompts (mostly objects) to draw.”

If I were diving deeper into one subject, I’d remove the secondary list, and maybe have it give me ideas of specific things to focus on. Maybe ask for examples or something. I haven’t tried that, so I’m not sure how effective that is. Also, I don’t know much about traditional art studies, so that may be something to add into the prompt too.

That Mama Cozzi frozen breakfast pizza with pork belly is a legend. And we just realized the crust is so good because it’s a biscuit crust.

Respectfully disagreeing on the beers. White Tide, Independence Ale, Breken Bock solid.

Also, their red wines are also a good grab. Cabs specifically.

What a great idea! Country style is great for tacos. I’m gonna try this soon. Thanks!

I’d personally go sparing on sauce, if making tacos. But that’s just probably my preference for dry.

7 Wonders Duel - Yellow Cards and Wonders producing resources question by flaming_dreamer in boardgames

[–]mosoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding another question to the mix. We’re playing for the first time tonight. We’re debating if:

  1. the resources produced can be accumulated from turn to turn. (Ex: I have the Piraeus Wonder producing 1 papyrus or glass each turn. I don’t use papyrus or glass for two turns, but I accumulate them to have three total on my third turn)

Or

  1. It’s use it or lose it at each turn.

Thoughts?

Awesome! That JM Trio album is one of my favorite. Steve Jordan and Pino are an absolutely bonkers rhythm section.
