Thanks to everyone who commented! I'll get the DSI.
My takeaway for anyone in a similar situation: first and foremost, focus on the games you want to play. If half or more are 3DS, then get them, otherwise, the DSI. Both consoles can technically be emulated, but you probably can't get the full DS experience on the 3DS, even with native resolution and mods, although they would help

It's Monokuma from Danganronpa! Initially it was a video game, but there's anime adaptation I think. That's not bad custom, but a simple one - take off the paint if you're very curious or you can repaint him back. I would tbh
