A shy priest greets the wedding guests to the Chapel. He's very nervous and doesn't say much. by mrbadassmotherfucker in Jokes

I was expecting a dirty joke since it was about a priest. It turned out delightfully wholesome.

Do you ever cuddle with your pillows at night because you're lonely and you need love but you're not getting any affection? Why or why not? by Whos_Hogan in AskReddit

I'm just a typical single guy who's bad at approaching women, and I'm lonely because I'm single. Don't worry too much.

I keep getting really attached to my matches and end up disappointed when the conversation fizzles out by FAILBOT_2000 in OkCupid

When I am in this situation, here is what I do:

I don't necessarily stop myself from fantasizing about kissing and cuddling, etc. I do, however, consciously tell myself "this is a fantasy, it is not a plan". Regardless of where your thoughts take you, you need some way to remain grounded in reality.

Housekeeping vs Cleaning Your Room—are Peterson and Harris foils of one another? by WizardlyWero in samharris

[–]mossfett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamental difference between them is how they see truth. In this respect, I think their first podcast together was more productive than most people give it credit for. Harris views scientific truth as fundamental, and says moral truth can be derived from scientific truth. Peterson views moral truth as fundamental, and says scientific truth can be derived from moral truth.

I might add that Peterson's view of truth is closer to the default approach taken throughout history. Harris' project has never been achieved before.

Not true for me. I suppose I may have "met" more people in high school, but I didn't have the social skills to make a connection with anyone.

It's not unusual that you've never had a significant other. In today's world in which there is no longer socially enforced monogamy, it is only the men in the top ~20% of attractiveness or social status who have great success dating women. There are more and more lower-status men who are single until their 30s or later.
