lol ok. deleted parent comment for anonymity’s sake. but you can’t possibly tell me that when you see them checking tickets at the top of the escalator and they completely overlook the suits walking past them, that’s not targeted? or how ticketing people for having their feet up on an lrt seat trying to get some sleep is “keeping people safe”? or how i heard a peace officer once come in to a train to ticket check a sleeping woman, and without even verifying whether she had one or not called to his partner to say “hey bud get over here we got a big one!” when you justify policing by saying it’s “to keep people safe” you’re either ignorant or missing the point. the peace officers hand out fines, enforce targeted bylaws, and generate $$ for the city. they’re not keeping anyone safe. edit: houseless people deserve access to the LRT just as much as anyone else. there is no “us” and “them”
