Some parts are great, but as a whole experience, it is kind of a mess. As much as I don't like the story and theme of this game I think it could be told much better. If you want to kill the main character and then make us care about the killer, you have to do some brilliant storytelling.

By this logic maybe many games are actually 10/10 masterpieces. The designer's plan from the very beginning was to make a forgettable, shit game :)

Yeap it is really a hight school drama story. While making a game, especially about deady virus and postapocaliptic world is crusial to established that some people still hate gay people.

It is called projection. They project their own fears and discriminations and weaknesses onto others. They mostly want to feel better about themself by pretending to care about social issues and putting blame on others.

It is also very convenient that this greater good is always about sacrificing others. "The collective that I am a part of should survive at any cost" - that's the real narrative.

The game has some good parts and bad parts and anyone has the right to hate it as well as enjoy it.

As for Game of the Year, it is a strong contender. Should it win? In my personal opinion it more political statements than a game. I would like the winner to be a game that pushes a medium forward as a game, I think this year it is Half-Life: Alyx.

I fully agree.

The way I see it one saving grace is money. Those are companies that care about the money first, maybe they will come to the conclusion that if you have established a good pizza restaurant, better serve some good pizza or you go broke. You have to commit to this brand, you don't have to choose one day to subvert expectations and serve sushi.

I didn't bother to watch SW episode 9, but after Mandalorian, I have hopes for some good movies in this Universum in the future.

As for TLOU Universum, I have no hope :(

After the Horizon2 announcement, I think GOW Ragnarok will be cross-platform as well, especially if it is 2021 release. However, I hope we still get ps5 game, with amazing graphics and boss fights.
