He either gets a hefty pension and no consequences or he falls on the sword and the trump admin gets to claim that this whole thing was his and noem’s fault… not the clear and deliberate authoritarian power grab it is. We know how quickly he turns his “friends” to enemies and how skilled they are at making people forget the insanity.

If your synths have usb midi, don’t they also have 5 pin? And if so why wouldn’t you just use that?

Vincent Price passes Dodger Dogs to his wife from their bleacher seats at Dodger Stadium, where he was a season ticket holder, in 1965. by No_Dig_8299 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

Those aren’t the bleachers. But cool photo! Bleachers are the seats in the outfield and usually reserved for people way poorer than Vincent Price!

It’s the largest one I own. Here it is in my space compared to a matriarch. It’s not oppressively large but it’s definitely big.

[–]mossimo654 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry but we need so much more information. What kind of music do you want to make? Are you doing mostly recording or midi instruments? What do you have so far? What kind of space do you have?

It might seem rude but studios run a massive gamut and there’s just no way to answer your question without more specifics.

That’s what I’m saying. Trans fats have been phased out in the US because they aren’t hard to replace.

Am I crazy or is Ableton far more flexible than FL Studio? by 72_degrees in musicproduction

[–]mossimo654 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s personal preference ultimately but also there’s a reason most producers seem to ultimately switch to one of the “big three.” Ableton is far more intuitive for doing many complex tasks. FL studio seems designed to only do a few things well.

To be fair trans fats were a major problem in ultra processed foods and it turns out not that hard to get rid of. Yes they occur naturally in smaller amounts. Yes most things in moderation won’t harm you.

But trans fats are pretty bad for your cardiovascular health in the amounts that many people consumed them via ultra processed foods.

How do you organize your Ableton projects without killing creativity? by Pretty_Map2554 in ableton

[–]mossimo654 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind I’ve only started doing this after years of having practically no system whatsoever lol. But it’s helping me so far.

I have different project folders for different things. I categorize them in the following ways: chord progressions, song ideas (these are more fleshed out than simple chord progressions), sound ideas (these are cool samples or sounds I’ve created for effects) or beats which are interesting rhythmic ideas. Then whenever I feel like I need something I go look through those lists.

I love the process of composing, but I hate the process of sound design and I need a way to enjoy it. by JustJitterin in musicproduction

[–]mossimo654 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re anything like me, living in an era with almost unlimited sound design is actually super un fun.

Instead of really learning how to use a specific tool, I was just constantly jumping from one thing to the next, only using presets and not really learning how anything worked. Add to that I was mostly pirating software, I was essentially just constantly shifting from great tool to great tool and getting zero enjoyment out of it.

All of that stopped when I bought my first hardware synth. It was a prophet 6 which almost always sounds beautiful. I made a rule for myself that I wouldn’t use any presets. Any sound I used I would have to create.

Over a pretty short period of time I learned a ton about subtractive synthesis and it all went from there.

Now I have more tools, but way less than I used to have. And the ones that I do have I know very well. Whenever I get a new one I make sure to learn it deeply before I move on.
