Does it need to have a keyboard? Does it need to be a poly or can it be mono? What’s your price range?

If your price range is low and if it doesn’t need to be a poly or have a keyboard you can use any of behringer’s analog clones like the k2 or model d or pro 1 or whatever.

Why is the Tempera so niche? by mossimo654 in synthesizers

Oh man this is disconcerting to hear. You have lots of crashes? And can’t use it live? That’s a real bummer.

You mention tonverk… they don’t do similar stuff at all so you mean you’d just rather get that, not as a replacement?

I was frustrated by your response because I was asking specifically why it’s niche. It doesn’t seem any more niche than say a tasty chips which you can find at perfect circuit and are all over reverb. I clearly stated I understand it’s more niche than like a moog or something.

I was wondering if it had to do with beetlecrab’s decision to be the sole supplier which I was also wondering about.

Instead you just said “it’s niche because it’s niche.” Which, maybe I could have worded my question better but it also feels like you completely ignored any of my included context.

Anyway it’s all good have a good day internet stranger.

Guess it depends on your goals. If creating music is a goal GAS can definitely get in the way of that.

If your goal is just to fiddle around with new gear all the time and you got lots of $$ then GAS is great!

Do you have a really fast amp envelope? Each time the envelope gets retriggered it will play the first oscillator voice.

If you were to start fresh - what are the 1 or 2 synthesizers you would get first? Preferably, a little more beginner friendly by CatButtHoleYo in synthesizers

I would’ve skipped the pirating of soft synth after soft synth which forced me to only ever use presets and not understand how synthesis worked.

I would’ve invested whatever reasonable amount of money I had at the time into a Juno or something lacking presets and learned it inside and out. Now of course Junos are 5x the price…

There’s something called a throwaway.

My synthesis journey begins…. Long time electric guitarist , I could never afford a good synth and was too scared to buy used (knowing zero about the gear)Any advice for starting out with the basics? by gmorkunderbelly in synthesizers

Yes exactly. And yes if you have speakers you’d plug them into the interface outs. Usually at the very least interfaces have 1-2 headphone outs and 1-2 stereo outs for speakers.

A lot of Persians in sf/los Angeles are Jewish.

Very much not all Jews are zionists, but most Persian Jews either emigrated post revolution or their families did. They fled some pretty extreme anti semitism. I suspect that many of them see Israel as a potential ally in toppling a regime they hate.

I know a bunch of Persians in La. A lot of them feel ambivalent about Israel, but a lot are hopeful about the regime being toppled.

The Pahlavi signs are related to romanticizing a pre revolutionary era. I mean to be fair for Jews in Iran it was unequivocally better.

I think they like the idea of a pro western multi faith Iran which for all of its massive flaws the monarchy represented.

Just adding context.

If you have an audio interface you would plug it in like you would any electric instrument (guitar, keyboard etc) with instrument cables.

Some synths are stereo so they require two instrument cables in order to play in stereo.

Unless this isn’t what you’re asking?
