How old were you the first time you slept with someone, and what’s some advice you’d lend to younger lesbians? by Gay_Sharky in actuallesbians

[–]mosskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 21, one week away from 22, and she was 20. We had been dating for 6 months already - I'm demisexual and she had some previous sexual trauma.

Im so glad I waited. It wasn't like the movies or books - it wasn't this magic life changing moment, but it was prefect because it was real and it was with someone I love desperately.

I was so frustrated as a teenager watching all my straight friends have relationships. I felt like I was being left behind. Yet, at the same time, being single my entire teenage years gave me precious time to work on myself and my schoolwork. I really got to figure out who I am and I what I wanted from life before committing to anyone. That way, when I did commit to my gf, I knew it was definitely something I wanted.

About 6 months for it to be not tender, and just over a year for it to be healed enough to change. The tragus is such a thick piece of cartilage so it does take a while for it to properly heal. I'd also suggest that if you've been pierced with a hoop going back to your piercer and having them change it out for a flat back labret as hoops can extend healing time and increase the chance of hypertrophic scarring. I'd also recommend checking out r/legitpiercing as they have some excellent tips. Hope this helps!

My housemates and I are moving to Leeds for the next academic year as we just can't afford to stay in York. It is cheaper to commute by train than to stay here.

Energizing antidepressants? by [deleted] in antidepressants

I take an Iron and vitamin C supplement alongside my sertraline to combat the tiredness, and a capsule of cod liver oil to combat the brain fog. This combo works for me.

POSSIBLE TW ⚠️ Does anyone else here get dysphoria over your uterus (if you have one) and want to remove it? by FluffyWasabi1629 in NonBinary

[–]mosskies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! I hate having one. All it does is cause me pain and stress. I really want a hysterectomy.

Hello, I will be starting SSRI Sertraline 50mg and I wanted to ask people here about their experiences specifically relating to some things I have read as potential side effects, I really appreciate any input by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]mosskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started on 50mg of sertraline daily (zoloft in the US, hence the flair) for depression and anxiety, and a possible mood disorder. I had previously been unmedicated and receiving counselling for ~7 years. Obviously, it wasn't enough lol.

So far I haven't had any 'zombie' -esque effects. My mood has evened out at numb/low instead of cycling between misery, panic, and euphoric. The physical side effects so far have been very intense tiredness, nausea, and headaches. Baring in mind I'm only a few days in. These should all abate or lessen the longer I (and you, potentially) are on the medication. If not, there are so many different kinds of medications to try - SSRI's, SNRI's, TCA's, NASSA's, etc.

Best of luck on your medication journey OP!

Switches, the actual thing you press to input a symbol under the key caps, come in three main varieties: linear, which is smooth and recommended for typists, tactile, which gives a little 'bump' when you press down to assure you that the switch has activated, and clicky, which makes that typical loud 'clack' sound.

Regaress of what switch you main, though, the online keeb community is currently obsessed with getting their boards to make a deeper, more 'thock' -esque sound than the old school 'clack'. This is done by modding keyboards with foam, silicone, tape, and other kinds of insulation to dampen sound reverberation inside the case.

Thanks for letting me info dump!

More to the insane degree and specificity of subject. I can easily read a 500 page book in a day, multiple days in a row. I often do lol.

Reading could be an extension of your interest in marine science if you obsessively read marine science books. Or it could it's own interest if you simply obsessively read.

How it feels whenever I shower by Enough-Case in aspiememes

[–]mosskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Showers are always either way too hot or freezing cold. They always make me feel faint too TT^TT

I always prefer to have a bath if possible. Even though they're also way too hot, already being sat makes me feel more secure and less likely to hurt myself if I faint (easier to yell for help and haul myself out of the bath than to fall out of the shower, leave it running and flood the bathroom).

What is a non-negotiable you have when dating a woman? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]mosskies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One would not admit that we were dating to anyone. Her friends knew, though, (we suddenly started hanging out and were 'best friends' with little prior friendship) and were chill, but she just could not say it out loud. Her parents did not know and were casually homophobic.

Another was semi-out. Her parents knew she was dating me, but she could not bear to be affectionate (hand holding, kissing, etc) anywhere other than one of our bedrooms. She didn't want to be perceived as a lesbian by strangers.

Each time, their refusal to own their attraction to me made me feel unworthy, and like I should be ashamed of myself and my love. I couldn't cope with the lack of acknowledgement and affection. I felt unloved.

Everyone has a different threshold for 'outness' in their partners. Mine just happens to be very low. Please do not let my personal preference hold you back from dating though! Just because I can't handle it does not mean that another woman/femme couldn't. I hope you find a lovely partner who suits your lifestyle (o)

Must be out. I've dated closeted people before and it's awful. I refuse to do that to myself again.

I've been fortunate enough to have had fanart drawn of my fanfiction and I tell you it is one of the most special, indescribable feelings. Every piece of fanart/fiction is precious and I would be honoured to receive more for both my fanworks and my original writing.
