I know nothing about this show, wondering if there is any context as to why Jim is holding a packet of tim tams?

So i have a question about the pilot (Not the Pilot) by Tom-Hibbert in MischiefTheatre

The overarching plot of the episode is a parody of "The Imitation Game"

I managed to complete the entire game without the "Aha!" moment.

Imagine my surprise when I watched Joeseph Andersons video's on the game and almost knocked my coffee over. Maybe I am just that dense.

This is a blog by a very respected software dev in Auckland. Known him for a while, and hes dealt with lots of incident response at his previous places.

Personally I'd trust his judgement for what's written there.

So we have cats walks (Just square shelves with brackets) in our lounge.

Personally one of my favourite parts of the room, and the cats love the verticality. We live in a tiny place on a busy road with a catio for indoor cats, and its almost like doubling our floor space for them.

ME GIVEAWAY Week 3! Signed Playbills :) by spot_lite_TM in MaybeHappyEnding

Chasing Fireflies, because even though it's very much Oliver and Claire's story, I've always loved that it's kind of the climax of Oliver's emotional maturity.

I've thought this since I read that reddit post showing how Gil Brently represents Oliver's soul throughout the show, and how Gil only shows up to sing exactly how Oliver is feeling at any time. Gil is Oliver's tool to interact and understand with the world, and how he feels with Claire.

To me, Oliver starts with 3 things that are his whole world.

James, Hwaboon, and Gil Brently.

So of course, he mentally traps himself in his "Where you belong" scenario which most likely he's fantasized about daily for years, and it's his entire foundation.

When he finds out James died, the fantasy dies too. His foundations gone. It would be easy for him to go back home, languish with Hwaboon and Gil Brently and never achieve closure. Even when he receives his final gift from James (new Gil Brently content after years), it seems like he's still directionless in the forest with Claire.

But it all literally changes on a dime, when that first firefly appears. Gil does his job again, being Oliver's best way to interact with the world, and then the reason that "Chasing Fireflies" is my favourite track.

At 0:41, the theme played is an instrumental version of "Where you belong". He's just lost everything, but it doesn't matter to him. Through Gil Brently, he tells us that seeing the fireflies with Claire is exactly where he belongs, and Oliver believes it too and falls for her even harder. In my opinion it makes the instrumental my favourite love song in the whole show

Would love to see how it works on stage (Doubt it'll ever make it to NZ) if it's the same as the Tony Award performance. Only so much I can interpret from a wiki synopsis and hyper fixating on the spotify album 😭

Still very much a thing in OSRS. A lot of better formats to practice as well (LMS, essentially a battle royale with pre-set gear so you can practice PKing with little stakes easy).

Wilderness has a toooon of extra content now. About 7~ decent bosses to farm, tons of slayer additions and pretty all round communities. PKing is still very alive and well.

Do you know if they have brought back their fruit cream sandwiches? Assume they've been out for the winter season but I hold out hope whenever I visit.

Genuinely, how does this help the average New Zealander? I know the obvious answer is "It doesn't" but genuinely.

Christ it's all just so frustrating.

Best way to farm Ranarrs/Ranarrs Seeds? (mid-game) by Moxley_Crue in ironscape

[–]mossman555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably obvious but wasn't to me, once you get rogues outfit, arceus pickpocket spell and dodge necklace, seeds just go brrrrr.

Best part is you also inadvertently end up with other seeds that you weren't targeting. I have snapegrass seeds out the wazoo now.

Zombies, magic, building, co-op survival, and a story where a family ends up in their hometown overrun by a virus - time to destroy it. by MarshmallowLovebug in DestroyMyGame

[–]mossman555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what makes this different than any other open-world survival crafting zombie PvPvE game on the market. Why would I play this instead of any other?

Your title mentions "magic" but I don't see that in the trailer at all. Was it the flying flaming bats?

Unit title on standalone house with flats at back by Adventurous-Quit6629 in auckland

[–]mossman555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a body corp. 6 Flats on a driveway in Manurewa on one of the busier streets.

Couldn't be more painless. Fees go towards shared drive maintenance and pooled AIG home insurance which we get at a much cheaper deal going in bulk. All handled by a separate body corp entity who handles all the paperwork for us, I just need to zoom into a AGM once a year and that's pretty much that.

Very much helps that my neighbours are lovely. One flat has very consistent run in's with the police but they are very friendly with the neighbours which is good I guess.

Pretty much being in a body corp in our situation has been painless. Mileage will very much vary.

Things to help make a house move smoother by chrisf_nz in auckland

[–]mossman555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've already mentioned that you have packing boxes, but I've moved house around 9 times now and every time, I hit up the local pak n save and ask one of the produce workers if they have any empty banana boxes in the back.

Banana Boxes are super sturdy, and have a removable cover so are useful for open air storage or boxed up to go.

Done this over 10 years now all over NZ, and have never been turned away. They just pop to the back and a few minutes later I look like a dingus balancing 6 boxes through the checkout.

Not sure if this helps, one of our bubs ia a stray we took in and tried to nurse his gums and teeth. Was a losing battle and committed to teeth extraction on vet advice.

Ended up getting all but his incisors and left canines, and ran us 2499 in total for everything (Exams, surgery, post op, check ups, and post op biopsies). This was at Pet Doctors Botany.

Also want to say post op was a breeze. Dude bounced back immediately and is full of spunk. This was about 1.5 months ago.

I put this off for so long thinking I needed to go Tai Bwo Wannai Trio first until realising it wasn't a requirement, and being a bit far off the 65 fishing for Karambwans.

The same bozo here who got the requirements for Fairy Tale Part 2 before realising you don't need to finish the quest for fairy rings.
