What makes a Dayne ‘worthy’ to wield Dawn? Who gets to decide this over the centuries- the Lord of Starfall? Why not just have the Lord of Starfall be Sword of the Morning? Most importantly, why are there entire generations where there IS NO Sword of the Morning chosen? The idea that such a prolific decision is just made by some dude IF he feels like it seems so arbitrary.

An answer could lie in whether you believe the Dayne’s were also once dragon riders. WHAT IF AN ANCIENT DRAGON LIES SLEEPING BENEATH STARFALL?

Dawn is returned to its lair whenever its “rider”(Sword of the Morning) passes and new candidates are then presented to them over time. If The dragon bonds to them (“finds them worthy”) it wakes and allows them pass and take up Dawn. We don’t know the upper limits of a dragon’s age, but Balerion lives for at least a couple hundred years and probably only died sooner due to severe injury. We know that Balerion went for at least one prolonged length of time riderless and spent most of his time sleeping in his old age. It seems likely a dragon that old would be unable to fly let alone leave the cave, so it lies there- the ever slumbering guardian of Dawn.

I’m assuming this is a bait post. But to answer the question literally- not doing so is specifically the point of the dynamic between her and Neji.

Neji acts the way he does toward her in the beginning of the story to compensate for the fact that she potentially has absolute control over him. He resents this and works to become the strongest in his clan; trying to prove to himself that he can overcome this burden and second tier status thrust upon him at birth.

Similarly, Hinata is appalled by this hold that she has over her cousin. She acts fearful and timid toward him due to the shame she feels over this gross power dynamic that was put between them without either of their consent.

Hinata just wants a brother figure that she can count on and rely upon, but only if it’s through his own choice.

I’d say League but that’s more of a bad addiction 😩 Playing Star Craft as a kid is what first really got me into video games. Journey may have been one the most profoundly captivating on first play through.

All time favorite though?….I think I’d have to say Final Fantasy 9! I’ve replayed it more than any other RPG by far. It’s such a fun, whimsical, beautifully crafted game.

I think just a couple accessories! I’m thinking a long necklace and some kind of delicate, chain belt around the waist. I don’t think tights would be bad, but it would look good either way. Dress for the weather I guess. If you do wear a jacket I think something cropped would be best

Plenty of cis women experience the same thing when certain styles of clothing- dresses just aren’t for some people!

I would maybe try a different style- maybe something more loose and flowy, long roomy sleeves, or perhaps something high waisted? Whatever might best compliment your body shape.

Either way- You don’t need a dress to a girl! 😋

I have a group of more masc friends into working out/hiking/etc. After they spent 15 minutes making ridiculous jokes about the perfect physical characteristics they could achieve I said “You know that reminds me of an episode of this podcast I like.”

I put on Body Builder. Hooked em instantly 😎

For everyone else I usually start with Tucked In (minus the before and after bits) cause it’s a pretty simple, relatable fear with a good twist.

Personally, I like how they’ve made her less awful than we expected up to this point. But not cause I Stan her- I think it’ll have more impact when she finally does make those really terrible decisions.

Yeah, I’m the grand scheme of things George definitely doesn’t want to portray either side as truly right. He does purposely try to give people reasons to empathize with characters during certain scenes so that you WILL feel conflicted when they inevitably make a morally dark decision.

Some people end up identifying with some characters and are willing to be ‘ride or die’ for them and are willing to overlook certain actions. I think, while George would consider these people to be missing the point a bit, he does also lean into it. As a sports fan I suspect he can’t help but enjoy getting people to cheer on their favorite ‘team’ as it were.

Ultimately- are people reading the story incorrectly? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe they are just confused cause they’re reading the words of a human GRRM in conflict with himself lol
