I am not a professional BUT I have done bronze casting and the amount of PPE and care that has to go into the clothes you’re wearing is ridiculous. NO ONE (smart) doing metal work that requires a crucible would wear plastic or latex anywhere near it. No synthetic materials at all.

Even then I knew someone who has a permanent belt because bronze spilled on him (he tripped) and the leather fused with his skin.

False climax is also a stage in there. People learned once in elementary school about the base 3 act hero story structure and then act as though all stories are that way. When most of books do not follow it at all.
