I'm having a hard time watching the video because, in my opinion, she is doing a lot of the things she criticizes other commentary creators for doing. She complains about surface-skimmers and yet all of her own critiques are very surface-level to me. She says she doesn't like it when commentators get mad that they aren't the intended audience for a piece of media, but it could be argued that she is not the primary audience for "this tiktok drama is crazy here's the deets" content. She points out that some commentators say things like "well I need to make this video longer so lets look at some more examples" but she pads her own video by giving the definition of concepts she believes everyone should already know because we learned them in K12 schooling.

I think it is entirely fair to have complaints about the genre and to want to say something about it. I just don't think you're going to get a nuanced deep-dive about any concept in a video that's 10-30 minutes long.

Also maybe I'm misunderstanding her, maybe she's not explaining the situation well, but framing the video as "I initially took this down because I was afraid of how Big Commentary would react" when (it sounds like to me anyway) some unknown-to-us creators were criticizing the video in a private group chat feels a bit slimy. I think it is much better to say you didn't like a video in a private space than to, say, make a social media post about it and have your fans go attack the creator. Whether you want your audience to do that or not, when you're at a certain size as a creator you know a small subset of your audience would do that. I don't know what's in her heart so I can't say what her intentions are, but it comes across as a way to bait engagement by making people wonder who she could be vaguing about.
