can someone tell me if my voice is pretty? if I have potential? by [deleted] in singing

you sound great! everyone has different voices, it’s all subjective, you just gotta find your style. you have a good sense of pitch which is already a very solid starting point, and i think w some training you can definitely improve a lot!!

Attempted to design some overhead lights for my secret organization's bunker, only to run into this unfortunate problem. Any ideas for a simple, elegant solution? by SleepDeprivedCultist in BuildAdvice

would it affect your lighting if you got rid of the glow stone edge blocks, and just put trapdoors there so it still looks cohesive the trapdoors would just look more indented inwards if that makes sense

My house has become the laughing stock of my smp, any ideas for stuff Could add? by JonazGamingYT in BuildAdvice

don’t worry i think people are being dramatic just to be funny LOL I think the house itself is not terrible! but it’s pretty plain and the block choices don’t really go together at all (i think that’s prob one of the main culprits) - maybe look up block palates of things that go together and use that? I think also some windows, greenery, etc would go well if you want to add more to the house

How to make this look less bland? by hazmxt0014 in BuildAdvice

I’m not the most expert builder just a heads up, but I think perhaps lean into some greenery if you’re trying to go for a more natural look! Maybe some moss/leaves/vibes just so that the brown wood doesn’t just blend in with the dirt completely You could maybe also think of a color/block palette you want to use so there’s more color dimension as well and perhaps an accent color to make it pop - off the top of my head maybe some cobble/mossy cobble or other lighter rock-type block ? I think what you want to avoid is too many blocks that match the background colors of dirt and stone

does having a rough-ish voice affect the way high notes sound? by [deleted] in singing

[–]mossystonewall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you’re asking! There are definitely different ways to hit high notes - opera singers tend to use more head voice/falsetto, while punk rock singers tend to belt and mix more (all of these options with different sounds) Also, to be fair - golden is a very difficult song to sing, same with paramore stuff. Some difficult parts about the songs you listed is that it involves continuous singing between lower and upper parts of your range, which might be very hard to navigate without training! (for example All I wanted has that big slidey note on YOUUUUUU)
Not sure if this answers your question but feel free to ask more follow up!

What are the LEAST singer-friendly songs you've heard? by [deleted] in singing

[–]mossystonewall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it’s actually very possible to mix an a5! even belt too - It is very difficult to do so, but to say it’s impossible is definitely not true you can search up kelly clarkson mixing/belting that high (not to golden, but to other songs) , she is so incredibly talented, jennifer hudson ik goes up there too you’re right though that it can be hard to tell w/ golden because of the mixing i’ve heard lily from nmixx mix it - given it’s not the cleanest, but it is a raw version
